I was pleased with Piccolo. It is fairly small with tables close together. However, paying more money for a glass of red than my pasta is not so great. How about a carafe? I know the glass is very profitable, but paying $24 for two glasses is out of line with the menu and atmosphere of Piccolo. Don't do bottles anymore...watching the waistline!

The homemade pasta was also fabulous and the gnocchi was superb. I could scoop up spoonfuls of sauce. So fresh.

Just like Italy, this is a cozy very European small cafe. We enjoyed a dinner consisting of Greek salad, homemade pasta with clams, and a sea bass perfectly prepared. The service was very good and the dishes were wonderful.

Feels like Italy. Owners proudly describe many imported items and specials. Delicious homemade pasta. Rich flavors. And a great value.

We just moved to the Beacon Theater/Fairway area and during our several day move in, discovered this great little restaurant. Within a week, we had breakfast twice, coffee, and finally dinner. The breakfast egg sandwiches are the best I ever had; great combinations with greens, prosciutto, avocado, pesto, even lobster. The dinners are terrific; many great pasta dishes, seafood and meat. 3 different lasagnas. Much to eat for my vegetarian son. The service was personal and warm and the prices extremely reasonable. Piccolo Cafe has a downtown vibe in an UWS space.
