Affordable and enjoyable
The only bad thing about ordering for delivery from Picante is that they take FOREVER to deliver. You need to order at 12pm to get food at 2pm. And we work practically like 4 blocks from Picante.

Stand out neighborhood spot
Its hard to find a restaurant above 135th on Broadway that has great food, service & value. Picante's one of the few. The tacos are my favorite and everythings always fresh. I enjoy take out and dining there.

Great Mexican!
Picante is definitely one of the best Mexican options in NYC. We had guacamole and chips for an appetizer. The chips were fresh and the guacamole fantastic. For dinner we had Camarones a la Diablo and Enchiladas Verdes con Pollo. The sauce of the first dish was very good (somewhat spicy) and the rice and beans were authentic. My only complaint was that the shrimp were a bit overcooked. The enchiladas were very moist and delicious. The margaritas were tasty and a great value for $7. The biggest drawback was we got there and the only available tables were in the bar area and the music was obnoxiously loud. My advice is to get there early for dinner or bring ear plugs (not an exaggeration!). Overall, the food made up for the atmosphere and I will definitely return in the future.

Best Mexican in NY
I'm from Texas, so it's really hard to find good Mexican food that can adequately compare. I found my way to Picante a few weeks ago, stumbled in to find a modest crowd. I was quickly greeted by a server who took my drink order. Immediately following behind her, a kitchen runner brought chips and salsa. The salsa was fresh, nicely chilled and it had the perfect amount of cilantro and onions to accentuate the taste of the tomatoes. The chips were warm, light and crispy. I ordered a ground beef burrito and a margarita on the rocks. My rita came rather quickly, and much to my surprise, the burrito followed suit in a matter of moments. Had I known the burrito would be the size of my arm, I wouldn't have eaten so many chips! Layers of ground beef, rice, cheese and onions were stuffed in a 16" tortilla and it was lightly baked to give the outside a tender crispy edge. The flavors melded well, and I found myself becoming more impressed with each bite. The rita wasn't all that great, and I could tell the bartender used a rita mix, rather than pouring it from scratch. The flavor was off, but it wasn't terrible. Still, I prefer freshly shaken margarita with tequila, lime juice and Contreau to add some sweet, citrus flavor. The staff was very friendly and the server was attentive. The price was unbelievably cheap. It's nearly impossible to get a meal for under $10 in NY! All-in-all I give this restaurant an overall score of nine. They lost one, tiny point for the drink. But, I am definitely adding this venue to my list of favorite Mexican restaurants!

best Mexican in Harlem
Picante is one of my favorite mexican places in the city. The food is great, the drinks are great, everything is very reasonably priced. The owners are always there working hard and making the place great. Today I called (for the 5th time) to see if they would deliver to me. I live one block outside of the delivery zone. The person on the phone talked to the delivery guy and he agreed. I've been trying to get them to deliver to me for months. Picante is undoubtably run by some of the best people in the food industry. Keep up the good work.

One of my favorite mexican places in the city
This is a great place to go for a delicious, casual dinner. The food is great, the service friendly, and the prices are reasonable. My boyfriend and I go here often and have a great meal every time. If you live in the neighborhood, definitely check it out.
