    A tad contrived

Went tonight for a business dinner. They are trying hard, but as per other reviewers comments the service was somewhat lacking. Drinks orderd in the bar never arrived. We moved upstairs and re-ordered. Upstairs we waited a while for bread and never were offerred again once all eaten. I could have used some to mop up the sauce on my entree! The food was well prepared but a tad contrived. The italians with me called it, "italian in a new york way". For the money I wont run back though they did "mean well" and seemed to care at the end if we liked or not.

    Maybe still too new?

Upon entering a deep red bar we sat down to order 2 glasses of champagne. We were told by the waitress that they had ONE glass left in the whole place...wow! After taking an elevator to the restaurant level, we walked into a very elegant dining room. For a Tuesday night at 9PM; only 3 other tables were being used the entire night which was surprising. We picked a nice bottle from the wine list which is only Italian wines and the chef sent out some fried shrimp in mustard as well as foccacia. For appetizers, the grilled shrimp and the bibb salad are what we chose and both were good. We then split the mushroom and truffle pasta and the main course was the lobster and the veal. We were told at first that they did not have any veal left and then came back 3 min. later to tell us that they actually did have some. For dessert, we had the sorbet and a nice glass of port. Although we got the sorbet, we had to ask 2x to bring out the port....not sure if they had to go find a bottle somewhere else. All in all the service was nice, and they have kinks to work out. It is a nice meal, but I do not think I will be returning in the near future.

    Excellent!

I had lunch here today and it was absolutely top-notch. The entrance is a low-lit, deep red lounge. An elevator leads up to a gracious and elegant dining room, where the service is polite and attentive... but far from overbearing! I had the insalata con vegetali e formaggio, the spagettini arrabiata with capers and black olives (not on the pop-up menu here, but on the menu at the restaurant), and the caramel gelato. All excellent! I'll definitely return.
