    Had to

OK, I really like this place and have been going there for many years (it used to be New Pasture) so I am surprised no one has mentioned it lately... OK they raised the prices but who hasn't, but it is still well worth it. I recently took a date there and she hasn't stopped talking about the Red snapper since. She is Dominican and knows a thing or 2 about Red Snapper. I recommend the place highly.

    best veg spring roll ever

This place is a hidden gem that you might just walk by if you are not looking for it. We used to go to other vietnamese restaurants in the area, but now that we found this place we are not sure if we could go back to anywhere else. The fried spring rolls came with mint leaves and lettuce so you can wrap each roll with these and eat it. So delicious! I ordered Pho Chay, which was excellent. It's not the kind of place for a romantic date, but it's cozy and servers are friendly.

    Simple, great -- simplly great!

Loved this place. Food was tasty and very fresh, service was friendly and helpful. I'm vegetarian, and even though they do have veggie stuff on the menu, they even made me stuff that was not on the menu when I asked what they recommend.

    ick...

I used to love this place in the 90s, what happened? Hadn't been there in a long time, so took my boyfriend. He couldn't even eat the food. I have more tolerance and was so hungry so I just ate what they brought us which was chicken and broccoli that tasted like they boiled both and then threw some sauce on it, do they even have a wok back there? Shrimp was limp and tasteless. Never again. We had to get noodles from a street cart after for my boyfriend and they were much tastier.

    Best Vietnames I know of

I love this place. I get lunch takeout here regularly and they are very prompt. Dining in is great too..I like the atmosphere. Most importantly, the food is great. Very fresh. I love the soups and the shrimp entrees. thumbs up.

    Excellent

I've been going here for 6 years and its always excellent. Extremely cheap for the quality, and as I've eaten at nearly every other vietnamese place in the city, cheap and expensive, im confident in saying this place provides the most satisfying experience. As to the review below, they dont made a shrimp spring roll at Pasteur its called a summer roll. The reviewer clearly doesn't know what he's talking about. And if your food is cold, you send it back.

    not good!

My friend and I walked into this place cuz we were really in the mood for Vietnamese food but it was late so this spot was one of the few places still open. Bottom line: the food was NOT good. And that was quite a disappointment because up until now my experience with Vietnamese cuisine has been spectacular! This place was nowhere near that...The shrimp spring rolls tasted stale and chewey the pho was watery and had no flavor I ordered their special curry noodles w/ beef and the dish arrived only semi-warm and was just not appetizing at all. Granted this place was not expensive, they gave free tea, and the service was quick, it was still a let down. I also realize that we got there late and the place was about to close, so they were in a rush to prepare everything but that's no excuse...Next time I'll look for some place else in the area...
