    Excellent cheesesteaks, little pricey

I have been going here for 3 years. The cheesteaks are out of this world! Yummy chopped steak, moist and hot, fresh bread, etc. However, for 2 cheesesteaks and 2 sodas I usually pay about 30 dollars plus delivery tip of course. Once had the valentine chicken sandwhich but was nearly as good as the beef. Guy who answers the phone is ALWAYS harrassed and annoyed lol.

    It's ok

Had a chicken club cheesesteak today, silly me for assuming it would be sliced thin and chopped; it was chopped chicken breast so thickish and somewhat dry pieces, not my style. Shame 'cause it would have been a very good sandwich. Have had their regular cheesteasks before, not the best but good for a temorary crave fix.

    The Best in NYC

I love this place. I have had many other Philly STK sandwiches across the US. This is the best outside of Philly. You will be very satisfied with the Fat Philly. LOVE IT!

why do i keep hoping it gets better...

i grew up outside of philly and have lived in nyc for the last 10 yrs. i actually live around the corner from philly slims and tried the steak when it first opened years ago - terrible. too much salt/pepper and no true philly flat griddle flavor, no crispy italian roll and the meat just isn't up to par. i have average standards - jim's...not a total snob for pat's/geno's/tony luc's. man - even the carts in philly have good steaks as far as i'm concerned. they all put slims to shame - they shouldn't even be allowed to use philly in the name of the store.

    Good Cheesesteak

Let's stop with the "I'm from Philly.." or "I know Philly...." This is not about what is right and wrong, but whether this is a good cheesesteak and my friends and I say yes. Whiz wit and you have a great sandwich that hits the spot every time.

Sad attempt for a Philly steak

I'm really surprised with the reviews here, especially from the Philly crowd. Yes, I'm from Philly and know a good cheesesteak very well. This place I'm sorry to say has got to be the worst cheesesteak I've ever had. The meat ... don't know what it is, but it's not Philly style. It's thin and tasteless. So tasteless I thought it was steamed or boiled and not cooked on a grill that is used around the clock. I asked for extra onions and I could have counted the amount of onion bits on 2 hands. The meat was also chopped and in small bits. There was no snap and chew to the meat like Pat's or Genos. The roll ... well it's doable but does not resemble something with a slight crisp on the outside and a chewy like inside. I know that there is good bread in NYC, something very close to Amoroso's, but they are not using it. There are no cherry peppers or hot peppers to enjoy with your steak ... like in Philly. And the hot sauce is Louisiana style and not like the kind in Philly at all.

    Too Salty

I was not happy with the cheesesteak I got here. The first time I thought it might be a fluke, but sure enough on my second visit it was the same result. I'm not sure if its the cheese or the steak, but it tasted like a mouthful of salt.
