Despite the small space, there are some other great attributes that make Phillippe a special and a homelike place. I agree sometimes you find this place overcrowded but it's nothing more than a sign of good restaurant combined with great food, great atmoshere, great sheff and, of course, GREAT OWNER. He took care of us (5 people) so well, giving us his table.... Food is over the top...Many probably know this place for Chicken Sautee but....I highly recommend the DUCK! It was just outstanding and taste was overwhelming.... Great appetizers and Grea Wine! You also can enjoy a cigar, in a secret room which can yet discover...

We booked for last 31 of dec 06 at 11 PM , we had to wait and then they gave us a very tight table and noisy too.we ordered the food and a Moet chandon bottle, wine. they forgot to write another order of shrimps and when we asked, the waitress told us sorry but the kitchen was close, and we couldnt have dinner for that reason.

Even after waiting 45 minutes for a table ( i was a little late fo r my reservation) i still can't write a negative review... the food was excellent.. the atmosphere was hip and happening... i would recommend this place for a great beginning to a great night on the town!!

We went here for a friend's birthday. Delicious food, great service. We were all very impressed with the whole experience.

I had dinner here with my wife and sister in law , we had 7pm reservations but called to say we would be a little late we arrived at 7:20 and were told by the hostess that our table was ready but they would need it back by 9pm.Welcome to the world of trendy new york dining, where not only do they not care about your experience they want you out before you've even had one. My first instinct was to leave but my wife and I had been looking foward to eating here so we stayed, not really concerned about any time limit . once we were seated we ordered drinks and appetizers which were very good , for the main course my sister in law and i had the peking duck which was pretty big and very tasty , my wife had prawns which she enjoyed very much. dessert was nothing special . The restaurant itself is very nice and on a saturday night it's a mixture of hipsters, wannabe's craving attention, and some older wealthy looking people sprinkled in,I would reccomend a visit ,but probably just one.

I went here for the first time on a date and I was impressed. The decor was fabulous, food was amazing and the service was terrific. The only thing is that one of the waiters makes you feel kinda rushed when trying to decide what to eat. but not really a big deal. Overall I loved the experience!

I don't know who's writing these negative reviews. The place is an obvious winner. The atmosphere is is serene and sleek and tastefully decorated. The food is absolutely delicious. The lichido cocktails were perfect. The jade dumplings and singapore handmade noodles were so good we ordered seconds to take home. And the crunchy duck salad was totally unique. Don't listen to the naysayers. The place rocks.
