Expensive and subpar food
You can find this same food's quality or much better for less than half the price. The service was ok, but this restaurant is definitively overrated.

Balanced disapointment
Let me start by saying I"m from NY have been here many times, and the food is constantly very good. It's some sort of French/Chinese hybrid of tasty. It's touristy. Maybe because I booked on Opentable, maybe I'm used to downtown, but the environment ruined our meal. Service was apathetic, slow to help and after waiting 20 min for drinks, entrees came 2 min after apps. Price FYI: Drinks were $19 and not so special! Brown rice was $8 extra, and for expensive entrees, you need to order veggie sides or be bored with your food.

Best Chicken Satay!
I've been to Philippe several times and the service has never been anything to rave about. Although the crowd at Philippe can be pretentious at times, the chicken satay and fried seaweed keep me coming back, sad but true. PS stay away from the white prawns!

Buffet Steam Table Food Is Better...
Rarely have I experienced a restaurant that serves such poor quality food, matched by outrageous, even offensive prices. Starting with the $18 "jade dumplings" that were flavorless, hard and without life, to the fried rice that was drowned in slippery soy sauce. The kicker was the 9 season spicey shrimp: it reminded one of the worst of chinese buffet steam table fare: chewy batter, unappealing presentation, accomplishing the ultiate over-cooked yet underdone dish that one struggles to understand how it ever made its way out of the kitchen. This place is to be avoided - or else it will cost you!

Delicious!
Chicken Satay, Lettuce Wraps, Bass, Prawns, Fried Rice, String Beans and a Chocolate Cake with homemade Ice Cream on top absolutely delicious!

Rip-off
Outrageously expensive with mediocre Chinese food and unprofessional service. A great disappointment.
