    Very romantic escape

I reserved the private wine room for Valentine's day, and although it was a little pricey, it was definately worth trying it at least once. In a city like New York where you usually have the person at the next table listening to your entire conversation, it was nice to have some privacy. I also found the room to be very sexy and cozy. I surprised my boyfriend with it and he was thrilled. The food was delish ( we had a lot to choose from ) and our waiter Timmie was very capable and friendly. It was really a memorable experience.

    Always a treat

Amazing value with unlimited mimosa special at brunch. This is a great brunch spot with live jazz music and a cozy setting. I always have celeberty sightings there. Def a favorite in the west village.

    Brunch not recommended

The food is at best equivalent to what you'd get at your local diner, the presentation was about the same as well, and the service was poor. There is nothing special about this place. I made a reservation for brunch after hearing that this was a good place for brunch, and I was embarrassed that I "treated" my friend to brunch here. My blueberry pancakes tasted like baking powder. Her scrambled eggs looked like something scraped off a diner grill. The waitress forgot my friend's OJ for 1/2 an hour and didn't bring my maple syrup for 5 minutes after she served me. It was relatively cheap, but even so, it wasn't worth it.

    Our favorite restaurant

We love philip marie. romantic, scrumptious, variety, kid-friendly. we just love the food. we first went in the fall of 1999 and have been going back as often as possible since then. the wine room downstairs is truly a special experience and the wine pairings with your special private dinner are amazing.

    Something spectacular in the Village

Always a great place to go. From a drink at the bar to a spectacular dinner made of flavors you've never dreamed, Philip Marie is the perfect place. There's no better place for brunch on the weekend and the private room for a group is great and the romantic private dining room for 2 people is probably not found anywhere else in NYC

    A Consistent Delight

We have been going to Philip Marie since it opened. We also get Take Away from them often. Our holidays: Easter, Thanksgiving, Birthdays, we all choose to return to this special place. Everyone in our family has their favorite dish here. I love the Chicken Pot Pie. My husband loves their Salmon. Other favorites are the fried green tomatoes, the grilled spinach and artichoke heart stuffed chicken with citrus sauce. All the vegetable sides are terrific. And their desserts are fabulous. This is the one neighborhood restuarant that we return to again and again. It's a family run place. The owners are lovely caring, talented hard workng people. And they offer consistently inventive, well prepared, top-of-the-line meals. I just placed a telephone order for our dinner and am writing this as I await their arrival.
