Good Food/Bad Service
We've been going here for five years.Recently the service has become quite poor. The best example I can give is what I will forever call the biscotti incident. When serving the biscotti the bus boy dropped a few of them onto the table. The waiter was standing behind him. He took the fallen biscotti away.I expected someone to bring fresh ones back.My mistake.I then went up to the bar and asked for the manager or owner.I was introduced to the owner.I told him about all of the poor service and the biscotti. He looked at me and didn't say one word.Alas no biscotti.

Excellent food for good price
Recommended this place by a friend last night. I had the cheese board and friend had the bolognese-both were excellent. Waiter was excellent, recommending a good (and reasonably priced) wine to go along with our respective meals. Portion sizes were not obscene like some Italian places, and the restaurant created a good vibe, even if it was a little empty late on a Monday night. Definitely recommend.

I'm Italian and this place is sooo good
I went to this restaurant because it's close to home and because it really looks lovely inside. So I decided to try it one night and I was really satisfied. I had a glass of lambrusco, fried zucchini and artichoke as appetizer followed by gnocchi. Couldn't be happier. It was all really good. Service was really nice too. It is a bit pricey and of course in Italy I wouldn't pay this much. But this is NY and the prices are what they are. This place is a bit more sophisticated so of course it charges more. I can't wait to go again. I've been dreaming about those gnocchi ever since. Yum!

Cozy Neighboorhood Place
I'vee eaten at this place many times and always had a great food experiences, I am not a drinker so the the wine selections are lost on me, but the many friends that have joined me always came away satisfied with the entire experience. Don't miss the homemade biscotti for deserrt! I recommend Petrarca the everyone!

Rude waitstaff
Stopped in since I was staying in the Tribeca area. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, but that's where the compliments end. Food was just average (had the risotto), but the waitstaff attitude was as if this was the most exclusive, high-end restaurant in Manhattan. My biggest complaint was my server. She was rude, barely spoke to me, wouldn't come by to check on things, acted put out when I requested a dessert menu, etc. Won't be returning.

tip
I went to this restaurant for lunch with three friends. The food was decent, but I was surprised that they charged an over 20% tip on our bill.

Delicious
I was in the area serving jury duty and was released early. Deciding to celebrate a little, I set off towards a lunch in the sunshine since it was a gorgeous Spring day. After wandering into TriBeCa I saw this place as I neared Canal Street. It had outdoor seating along the sidewalk and a nice lunch menu - salads, individual pizzas, pastas, a burger etc, and also a wine list that sold a vast and interesting array of 1/4 bottles (Italian mostly.) Exactly what I was looking for! A friendly, very pretty waitress sat me outdoors at a table (I was solo), which was along a row of them that wrapped around the corner. Soon I was brought water, delicious crusty bread and Extra Virgin Olive Oil, and menus. I got the lunch omelette - goat cheese and herbs, and a 1/4 bottle of a delicious white wine which I think was called Tribbiano. The omelette was perfectly prepared - fluffy and light, and it came with perfectly crispy french fries and a small salad. Sitting there, people watching, enjoying the weather and the food and wine, I practically felt like I was in Europe (although the view of the iron front buildings is pure NYC). I had a very nice lunch, the service was very good, and the prices seemed fair. The only nit pick I would have is that you can only buy wine by the 1/4 bottle - but hey that's no big deal! Recommended!
