Great Experience
I came to eat here despite all the negative reviews I read. I'm glad I listened to my gut and came anyway. The food was wonderful. The service was that of a relaxed Sunday morning type of experience. The coffee was excellent. The orange juice was so fresh. I ordered the Western Omlette and it was so good. My husband had the waffles and it was so tasty. I will most definately come again.

Agreed
I agree with Eliza. I have been a regular of the east side Abeille on 1st Ave since it opened and have NEVER had a problem with service or food quality. The poor reviewers must be used to Per Se and why they even bother with a small little Belgian place is beyond me. Snobs. Get over yourselves, the food is good and the restaurant is extremely charming (and, I should add, VERY clean) and thats what ultimately counts.

You all must be expecting too much
This place is the perfect lunch spot - at least the one I go to, which is the TriBeCa one on W Broadway. Croque Monsieur and Beet Salad are really good, and the atmosphere is light and euro, and the service has always been good. I don't know if maybe people come to NY and expect some life-altering experience from every restaurant or what, but these reviews sounded way off the mark to me. So I thought I'd add my 2 cents. Very good place, cheery, good food that isn't haute cuisine or anything but yummy and reasonably priced. So just get over your big bad selves and learn to be happy with a good salad and sandwich. Pfft.

worst dining experience I've ever had
Was it a full moon? Because whatever could have possibly gone -wrong, did. Went for dinner, and the waiter forgot to put our order in and the place wasnt even busy. Then a different waiter asked us what we wanted for dessert before our dinner even arrived. I repeated 3 times how I would like my salad prepared, just to make sure they didnt screw that up --- they did anyway. The steak was bland, but not worth the price at all. When my date told the waiter he didnt want anymore wine,he took our bottle of wine and filled up both of our glasses. So a glass was wasted , because it was poured into my dates glass who didnt even want anymore wine! Awful, i will never ever go back here. What a waste of the cute french ambiance.

Good enough for me
this place is good 90% of the time, nearly every time i go here the food is the best; and iv been going since it opened. The speed of their delivery is good.

Hit and Miss
This is the strangest place. Its completely hit and miss. I live in Stuy Town so do go there often enough and its either really good or not so good. There is no in between. I will say, when its good it is delicious and very enjoyable but when its not, you leave feeling very disappointed and its not cheap. Just hope when you go, its an 'on' night!
