    what happened

eat here often but dont know what happened, the pizza just does not taste the same. I asked the pizza man he said nothing changed. I dont believe it ,the cheese tastes different. Hope they dont lower quality like the rest of them.

    One of the Best!

I have been trying to find a great pizza place in the east village for quite some time and I am happy to say I have finally found it! The crust is doughy and delicious! So far I have had pepperoni and white, both which have been the best I've tasted in the EV. Delivery service is good, as well. I have never had to wait more than the standard 30 minutes. I highly recommend this pizza joint! I love Pete!

lickety split delivery and PHENOMENAL food

I've been a loyal customer for years now and I am convinced that the pizza is one of the best in the city. Last week I decided to branch out and try the spaghetti and meatballs which were nothing short of divine. The meatballs were a perfect balance of tender and meaty but not loaded with filler. There is something about the sauce that makes the food insanely addictive. The portions are generous and the delivery always comes in 20 minutes or less. Food always arrives hot and fresh. For pizza/italian food this is the only place to order from.

    For Pete's Sake

I was looking for a local pizza place to fill in the gap left by the closing of my beloved Five Roses, so have been "auditioning" various East Village pizza palaces. All have been found sadly wanting. But now I have found Pete's-A-Place, and despite the cutesy name, which makes me roll my eyes so hard I can see my own spine, this is the place. Pizza is a little floppy, a little sloppy, but the sauce is sublime and the cheese perfection. And it's great cold, which is my killer test. Plus the meatball sandwich is perfection: nice meaty meatballs, no filler, just the right amount of sauce. It's too far for just a drop in slice when I'm jonesing, the way I could pop by Five Roses, but they deliver, and quite quickly too. Next I'm going to try the garlic bread and a pasta dish. If I can get past the meatball sandwich, that is. Utterly terrific.

    Best pizza

I've been going to place for 28 yrs and the Sicilian slices are like no other. BEST IN TOWN. Their regular slice is great too. Great family and food is alway ON!

    Gotta love mama's eggplant!!

I am completely addicted to their pizza especially the mama's eggplant and white pizza. The people here are really nice and the service is relatively fast on site. Delivery takes half an hour which is pretty much standard. Of course, due to the recession they have gotten a tad on the pricey side but totally worth it for the quality food you receive.

Best NY pizza I've ever had

I grew up in Manhattan and can say that I've had many a slice in my time from the hundreds of pizzerias around the city. I always came back this place when I had a choice. Since I moved away in 1988, I have lived in many different cities. I even spent a few years in Chicago who has some great pizza although they have a different style. But throughout the many years and places I've lived and traveled, I always compared everyone to Pete's. I finally came back to the east coast in 2006 after being away for over a decade and the first place a I had to visit was Pete's. Again, I reaffirmed that Pete's continued to reign as king of the slice. If you are looking for a replica Italian restaurant with a lot of make believe flare, plastic vegetation, and overpriced food then go down to Mulberry street. But, if you are looking for the best, traditional, NY style pizzeria that focuses on the food rather than the ambiance - Pete's will deliver.
