Disappointed but Hopeful
I really love Rotisserie chicken. So when I discovered there was a rotisserie chicken in the neighborhood, I rushed right over. My first experience with the food was delightful. The chicken was tender and juicy; but needed some more flavor, but that didn't stop me from visiting them again. I have tried a few more things on the menu, their chicken salad sandwich, barbecue chicken sandwich, ceasar salad and the chicken soup. I love all of the ones I listed above, but the rotisserie chicken alone still needs some flavor! The sides I have tried have been delicious; can't get enough of the macaroni and cheese or the meatless string beans. I ordered the rotisserie chicken today and it was the worse ever. It was burned, tasteless and stringy; which means it was old. Of course I was disappointed, so have decided not to order the rotisserie chicken again. Love this place, but their cooks need to learn a little something about seasoning.

Poorest telephone order takers in NYC
First you have to be put on hold, Then you get transferred to someone else, then you generally get cut off. If you are lucky enough to get your order taken, and generally the person is very rude, the order arrives often up to an hour later, Luke warm and most times slopped around I the container and mixed with its side dishes. I order here because the food is great value, and actually tasty, BUT if it's been since 1969 can't they do something about the service on the delivery time and general courtesy of their employees? You have a good product, clean up your act...

Best value for money in the neighborhood
Where else can you get such a great fresh meal for around $10?

great comfort food!
i'm surprised to see 3's across the board for this place. i went there for the first time w/a friend a few days ago. yeah, it's not much to look at - you pick-up your food and take your tray to a table, but the food was so good. it's like vg home cooked food - really great comfort food. i had turkey (a special that day) and my friend had pulled pork - both were excellent. they each come w/2 sides and a small corn muffin and a cup of delicious soup (black bean or chicken w/vegs). it's probably about $12 w/a drink, but it's not fast food. it's healthy delicious comfort food. it's clean, quiet, and the people that work there are very very nice. we totally enjoyed this place.

need improvement
So i have been ordering a lot at Peter's Since they opened their Location at hell's Kitchen. Everytime I order there is something wrong. 1. there's always something missing. 2. they send the delivery to the wrong apartment, so you end up waiting 45 minutes for your food. THEY DONT EVEN CALL TO SEE IF THEY GOT THE RIGHT ADDRESS. 3. when you call for your food, it takes 10 minutes to order since the lady picking up keeps putting you on hold. Food however is fair. My favorite is the chicken at meatloaf....the sides are blah....and the soda they have is flat....

Good, healthy comfort food for busy people
Just had the 1/4 chicken w/ 2 sides for the second time, and I'm glad this place is in the neighborhood. The rotisserie chicken was good. Flavorful. Spinach was really good. Rotisserie veggies were a little overcooked, but for some reason, the carrots taste very good that way. Last time, I ordered the mac n cheese. I'm a bit of a m&c snob, and I prefer it baked, but it was better than most places. The only suggestion I would make, other than not overroasting the veg's, is that the restaurant use glass covers to see the sides, rather than the ceramic covers they have. I like choosing my sides by looking at them, rather than reading from a chalkboard. Overall, a really good place. I think it will make it.

Simple and Solid for an Everyday Meal
The food is simple and reliable. Nothing that would knock your socks off, but definitely an easy choice for once or twice a week.
