disappointing
Piazza cold and tasteless. Portions small. Food prepared without full attention and care. Service very poor, four out of seven finished their meal before other three were served.

Lovely Neighborhood Spot
I met up with some girlfriends the other night and we decided to try Petaluma. It's always filled with an older crowd so we were never inclined to try it before, but we figured "what the heck". The manager at the door couldn't have been nicer and sat us (a 6 top!) right away even though they were packed. The food was delicious, our server so sweet (and cute!) and we had a blast. I overheard some customers being really cranky towards their server which leads me to this conclusion: I think the negative reviews on here must be coming from people who don't have tastebuds anymore and exist solely to make the lives of restaurant industry professionals miserable. Listen to me people: If you are going out to eat in a restaurant you should be doing it to have fun, enjoy yourself and indulge in good food and wine...not to whine at the staff and complain about ridiculous things all night long. I'll definitely be back.

New menu really good
i guess they just changed to a fall menu and it's really great. still have the old dishes that i love, but some new exciting ones too...seems less italian focused? if you live in the neighborhood definitely go check it out! my gf and i love it

Not recommended
I had a birthday party there last week and was completely disappointed. Anyway, food took forever and was very much incomplete when it finally arrived. After the specials being pushed to us they left much to be desired. An okay restaurant, but can definitely find better for this price.

love it
not sure where the few reviewers before me are talking about...I love Petaluma! the staff is always to sweet and accommodating. the food is great and i've NEVER had a problem with delivery-always prompt and delicious. I highly recommend Petaluma!

Avoid on a warm day
I think this place is rather average food quality wise but on a warm day stay away. They barely turn on the A/C making a dining experience very uncomfortable. Maybe its because of all the old people that eat there but I think its more because they are very very cheap.

Could be better
Concur with other reviewers that this place has gone down hill. the last couple of visits the service has been average at best. snide people on the phone when you want to order. watch out for the $6 delivery charge (they call it a "taxi" charge even though they still show up on bike) that they try to sneak in even when you live within the delivery area. and if you object or mention that it was never included they will tell you "well, it shows here that you've agreed to the charges in the past" - a complete falsehood but I guess they will do anything to increase their margins.
