    Yes, disappointing

Very dissappointed. We ordered the "special" appetizer, clams casino , only to be told 15 minutes later that they ran out. And this was on a prime Saturday night. After another 10 minutes, we were told they ran out of sea scallops. The veal parm was dry, no sauce, and the linguini was like mush with ragu sauce. Need I say more??

    Disappointing

The food was mediocre and the service inconsistent. The waiter stopped by twice saying that he would be right back and then disappeared for quite a bit. The bread took forever to come out, as did the appetizers. Although as soon as the apps were placed in front of us, the waiter was back asking if they were ok. We responded by saying we'll let him know once we get the food in our mouths. It makes me uncomfortable to see the staff huddled together in the dining room while i'm eating, as they were last night. The chef came to our table asking about the food. He seems sincere about putting out good product but he's trying too hard to be trendy. He should focus more on keeping it simple. Right now the food is forgettable. Overall a disappointing experience.

    Really Disappointing

The entire staff was not interested & the food was not very good. Really need to improve if they are going to make it back and stay.

Hit or Miss food, too noisy

My husband and I had dinner there tonight. His meal was good, mine was not. He had ordered the cod and kale salad. Me, the salmon and the verdure mist. My salmon was served with a white bean puree and fried carrot shavings. I had ordered medium, received raw, very salty salmon with a burnt crust. Salad was okay, but there were peppers, not tomatoes. My husband's cod was great. Also, too noisy and too many tables too close together. Would not recommend

    Disappointing return

My family and I have been going to Petaluma, a neighborhood restaurant on the UES for 17 years. A few years ago it came under new ownership and the food went downhill. They closed and remodeled so we were hoping our neighborhood go-to restaurant had improved. Sadly it had not. The same unpleasant woman greeted us at the door, its now noisier, and the food remains mediocre. The pizzas are good, however. The wait staff are friendly, but things like sandy arugula salad and rubbery rotisserie chicken were inedible. Gone are the traditional martini glasses and fried olives. We did without Petaluma for the duration of the renovation and will continue to patronize other places.

    Great company retreat

I was in charge of arranging a retreat for my department at Petaluma. The end result was great. Alma, the general manager, is excellent. She was very accomodating and hospitable. The staff was extremely helpful as well. The menu was perfect. People enjoyed themselves. The only small complaint is that the private area is not closed off, so during our retreat, we were able to hear everything going on. Overall, Petaluma was great!

    Great Baby Shower

Hosted a baby shower in the private room. When planning the shower the event planner was very cordial and helpful. On the day the staff was eager to help decorate and set up the room and made sure we were comfortable with the lighting and heating. When the guests began arriving they immediately started serving and did not hold us to the exact time of the contract. The food was served in an organized fashion and everyone had a relaxed and enjoyable afternoon.
