    Not really recommended

The prices were not too high for the neighborhood, but the food was not the greatest. Here is where my personal taste comes into play: I had the linguine bolognese and it was swarming with onions. To me, it was overkill. But for someone who doesn't mind onions, perhaps they would find it more enjoyable.

    Highly Recommended

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the city. The food is reliably good, the wine list offers great selection, and the servers are always friendly and quick. I highly recommend the homemade tiramisu on the dessert menu, which is some of the best I've ever had. Ask for a table upstairs on the balcony overlooking 2nd avenue. If you're dining late in the evening in the summer, it can't be beat for atmosphere. One downside about eating here is that it tends to get very loud inside the restaurant when they're busy and sometimes it can be difficult to carry on conversation.

    A great neighborhood joint

a step above the surrounding irish pubs/bars! this is a nice italian/seafood place that is great for the neighborhood. service can be spotty but overall we enjoy this restaurant.

    Better than I expected

Went there this past saturday with a group of 11 people. We made reservations so there was no wait. They sat us upstairs which was nice because it was more private and quiet. None of us really ate anything exceptionally good but it's pretty decent food for a good value. I shared a dish called Linguine Pescatore - it says on the menu that it's for two people but almost everyone in our party had a plateful. We requested a white wine/clam sauce instead of the marinara. The best part was definitely this strawberry cheesecake-like dessert. The service was decent - I wouldn't mind going back especially when it gets warmer because they have this balcony upstairs where you can eat.

    Great Evening!

This restaurant is really good. There were 7 of us and we were seated immediately and the service was perfect. The black linguine with shrimp was fantastic. They make an incredible white pear martini as well. The apple crumb pie and ice cream was just ok. Overall I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants great italian food at a reasonable price!

I had a feeling of optimism and gaiety on entering this reasonably attractive, busy fish restaurant. My hopes were quickly dashed. The waiter had the exceedingly annoying habit of making definitive, unsolicited recommendations, e.g., "I recommend the striped bass. It is filleted, it has no bones, it is the mildest of the fish on he menu." True, it was a filet, it had no bones, but it was thoroughly bland. The kitchen has developed a technique for entirely removing the taste of the fish, presumably to make it "mild," We ordered mussels, which were large, succulent and excellent. The staff must have considered it very cheap of us to want to share them as a starter. They made their feelings known by refusing, until twice asked, to bring an extra small fork. The wine was quite good but very over-priced. $11 for a glass of reasonable Sancerre was over the top and took the fun out of it. The waiter must have been in a hurry to get out of there. Without asking if we wanted dessert (which we did not), he plunked down dessert menus along with his unasked for recommendation. "I recommend the blah-blah-blah." Did I ask? Any residual good feelings I had about the mussels or the wine were dashed when I got my coat, but no hat or scarf, it appeared. Eventually, I found them. My fodora was stuffed in the sleeve of my coat. The scarf too, but that, unlike the hat, survived the trauma. I didn't.

Great people, fine food, good atmosphere

I went there on a Saturday night and the place was hopping, BUT the wait straff did everything to make you feel comfortable and non rushed. As with most places they had one too many tables so the conversations had to be held down. Appetizers - I had the lobster bisque which was very good, I would have preferred a more spicy interpretation. My fiance had the mussels- excellent and the sauce was a very good complement. My friend had the crabcakes and he said they were what they were supposed to be. Entree- I had the pasta with chicken and wild mushrooms- excellent although the sauce was a little too heavy, some of the nuance of the mushrooms were lost. My fiance had the shrimp and my friend had the linguine and white clam sauce- both were rock solid. The portions were big, exactly the way they should be! They should look to expand the wine list price variety - the whites were pricey at $11 a glass and up.
