Subpar!
I ate there last night. The service was wonderful -- the food absolutely horrible. I think there could be nothing more unappetizing than lobster served on a plate with a mound of warm mayonnaise! The lobster itself was subpar! The tomato soup looked and tasted like a slightly better Campbell's, the shrimp appetizer was "ok" and the artcic char was unimpressive. The only one in our party who remotely enjoyed his meal ordered the snapper appetizer and main course. All in all, it was not a great meal -- and the wine list was equally unimpressive (and overpriced). I honestly was embarassed that I brought European guests to this place! Who do they think they are fooling?!

Delicious
In many restaurants in restaurant week you are treated like a second class citizen. Not so Perry Street. We managed to get a reservation the same night we called and they were very accomodating. The food was superb, from the amuse bouche to the desert, the chef even accomodated my allergy and made a special desert despite the fact that it was not available on the restaurant week menu. The staff were knowledgeable and courteous without being overly attentive. This was not really a fun lively place but hey, it was only a Tuesday night. The normal menu is pricey but comparable with other high end places in Manhattan and with the food this good I will definately be back.

Gastronomic Hideaway
I've been to Perry Street three times over a few months. Always great, sort of a mini downtown Jean-Georges, very relaxed, perfect service and the highest quality cuisine at somewhat lower prices than the mothership. Very cool in the true sense of the word. Very West. The uptown traffic on West Street adds an artisitic panorama of movement and light in the evening, complimenting the sleek inner decor. I brought a lady friend at the end of December and she said afterward that it was the best meal she had all year. It is always one of the best in town.

Perfection
I went with people from work for lunch. Most ordered the prix fixe, which is a great deal. The service was superb - friendly but unobstrusive, and impeccibly professional. The food was even better. Very simply plated without complicated constructiosn or excessive sauces, but the marrige of flavors and textures was awe inspiring. We shared plates, and after trying so many different unexpected perfect combinatins, we were all a little drunk with pleasure. Jean-George is really a master, and this is a lovely, elegant and unintimidating way to experiance his art. I highly recommend you do.

Amazed Again By Jean Georges
I took my family here for dinner when they were in from out of town and don't get to go to fancy dinners often in small town California. The service was incredible and the food was some of the most amazing I have ever tasted, better than Jean Georges JoJo or Spice Market which are also very good. I will highly reccomend the Lamb and the King Oyster Mushroom appetizer. It is a perfect place for a romantic date, or a business dinner great modern decor, excellent service and food to die for! Enjoy!
