Dined at Perilla this past weekend and the food was delicious. In a party of 4, we all had a different entrees. The presentation was impressive and the food was even better. The service was excellent. Parking was no problem, got a spot right in front. (bring quarters). Met Harold and he was gracious and friendly. We were seated immediately and the out waitress was knowledgeable about the specials and was able to explain each dish. She was also very friendly. I had the skirt steak with the sunchoke cream spinach. What a delicious combo. I was truly impressed and am looking forward to returning.

Very enjoyable experience. The poor host had to re-seat us 2x b/c my friend and or myself were cold and was veyr friendly about the whole thing. The bread at the beginning was a bit blah, but after that everything picked up. The crab and mango salad was delicious, and every flavor in my yellowtail hamachi popped. The entrees...langoustines and a sea bass special...were amazing as well. As for dessert, the perilla yogurt that comes with the coconut cake may sound odd, but it's a must, as is the black plum sorbet and lime ice cream. The oatmeal tamarron cookies served with the bill would have saved dessert if it had been bad...I requested a few extras to take home for later on. Definitely a must-try.

I feel bad writing this after reading the other reviews... just dined there last night and was so excited to go but left feeling disappointed. I thought the design of the restaurant was boring, hated the fabric the banquets were covered in and thought the lights looked like Home Depot specials. I had the soft shell crab appetizer special. I felt it really lacked flavor. For an entree I had the ravioli and thought it was ok, wished I tasted more truffle.... other comments were that the risotto was too lemony, the sausage side that came with the chicken was awful. The pork belly was good. We decided to skip dessert and run over to Marys Dairy instead....

The winner of Top Chef certainly lives up to his reputation. Our meal was unbelievable and the service was impeccable. There were 6 of us in the party, so we got to taste alot of different dishes. Our favorites for appetizers were the crab salad, spicy meatballs (a must) and soft shell crabs (a specia). For entrees, we loved the ravioli, the steak and the new zealand shrimps. We barely had room for dessert, but couldnt resist the smooth melt in your mouth flavors of the chocolate cake. Not only will I definitely go back, but will be telling everyone i know about this place.

Just dined at Perilla . What a great experience! Chef Harold Dieterle genuinely knows his stuff. His food would truly hold it's own against any of the top executive chefs in the city. Particulary that mushroom/truffle ravioli and those Langoustines! The atmosphere of the room is hip, but the staff and the other diners when we were there were really friendly and helpful. All in all it was a lot of fun and surprisingly un-pretentious.

Ate here for dinner the first week it was open. The staff was clearly prepared for the opening- the service was amazing. Our waiter knew about everything on the menu - impressive - and the food was phenomenal. Dishes were inventive, reasonably priced, and delicious. We cannot wait to go back to try more. You must NOT skip dessert. My boyfriend doesn't even like dessert - and we (he) killed two of them. You can't go wrong with your food choices here. Just hope it doesn't become impossible to get in.....

I was extremely impressed with harolds resturant. from top to bottom everything was wonderful. Service was stupendous, atmosphere was quaint and pretty and the food came out perfect. There were four of us and from appetizer to dessert, we all had great things to say and left happy waiting to come again.
