My wife and I try a new Manhattan restaurant every weekend, and have become very tough critics by now. Even in great restaurants we often find a weak dish or some other element. But at Perilla last night, we both thought every dish and every aspect of the experience was flawless. (But, be sure if you are a party of 3 or 4 you request not to sit by the kitchen door.) For starters we had the Duck Meatballs with Red Gnocci - and it was truly a standout dish - and also the Crab Salad was executed beautifully - it was light and very nicely seasoned. We also had a side order of the Faro Risotto with our apps, and it was absolutely delicious with an unusual and wonderful texture. The entrees were equally excellent: the Ravioli with (very) fresh peas and asparagus, and one nightly special, the Wolf Fish atop the yummiest, crunchiest rock shrimp I've ever had. Lastly, we shared the Chocolate cake dessert - and even on a hot summer night, it was uniquely refreshing due to the kaffir lime leaf ice cream and stewed cherries that were paired with it. Our server was confident and attentive, and the bill was what you'd expect from a restaurant of this caliber.

Amazing! This basically sums up my whole experience at Perilla. Not like I wasn't expecting a tasty meal from the Top Chef winner, but he blew my expectations out of the water. The Spicy Duck Meatballs was flavorful with just the right blend of ingredients and perfect pairing with the gnocchi and quail egg. The Skate Wing was cooked just right holding enough of the flavor and texture. Side dishes like risotto and cream of corn completes the heavenly meal. The Lemon filled doughnuts and raspberry-apricot melba desserts was cool, refreshing, spectacular and a great idea for the humid nyc summers. I couldn't ask for anything better! Definitely will be returning soon! Maybe even next week! I may become a regular!

My boyfriend took me here last night for our anniversary. I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone else looking for a nice meal or for somewhere to celebrate in style. We started with the beef carpaccio, then moved on to the duckling and lamb entrees. Everything was phenomenal. We ended with the sticky coconut cake (best dessert ever) and the lemon and fennel donuts. I would happily order any of it again. The tables to either side of us also highly recommended the summer truffle ravioli, the sauteed skate, and the hanger steak. The service was also great - the servers were very knowledgable when it came to wine and food recommendations and they were very attentive. Two great big thumbs up.

The appetizers were wonderful. The entrees were mediocre. The food (fish and meat in our case) was cooked well. However, the sauces lacked flavor and the meat didn't mesh with the other elements of the dish in most cases. We wouldn't go back.

The duckling was outstanding...so tender and perfectly seasoned, heaven. spicy lamb meatballs and cuttlefish were also perfect. I wouldnt change a thing, this place is a gem.

Bravo. After seeing the show, I was excited to try the place out. The food was exceptional. The waitress was extremely impressive. She not only knew her wines but obviously knew exactly which wines to pick with the dishes my friend and I chose. Had the duck meatballs and the flank steak, I recommend both strongly. The meal was expensive for my budget but, as far as the quality of the food is concerned, worth it. Sat in the back, which was a bit dark, but this did little to ruin a wonderful meal. I felt the place overall had a great atmosphere. I will certainly return.

We went into this dinner being excited b/c we are big fans of Top Chef....but were thinking the food was going to be good, but we didn't have super high expectations. All 3 of us were blown away. We are all foodies and enjoy fine dining and have eclectic taste. The food was fresh and prefectly seasoned! I am writing this stuffed...and very impressed! Congratulations!
