Everything about this restaurant was 5 star. When I made the reservation I was told they were full and our party of 6 would have to sit in a booth for 5. Upon our arrival the hostess told us the booth would be uncomfortable and we were seated at a table for 6. The food was amazing, everything from the risotto to the chocolate souffle were perfect.

Went on a saturday night, and had a wonderful time. The food was creative and delicious. The staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgable. We will certainly be back.

When reading on-line reviews, I am often as suspicious of the fawning 5 star ratings, as the caviling "wish I could give negative stars" pans. Please note each star on this rave was well earned from the friendly and gracious host, and personable, patient, and knowledgeable server who humored our dithering and foodie questions, offering recommendations of her faves, and knowing off the cuff, the details of the Branzino which practically dissolved it was so delicate, a marvelous hint of smoky paprika showing through at the end, baby octopus with just a hint of crispiness. Buttery-smooth Lamb Sweetbreads, melding perfectly with lentils, and enlivened by their ginger sauce, given a great texture by their crisp exterior. Roasted brussell sprout leaves sing when toasted pine nuts and filberts are thrown in, given light nutty flavor and delightful texture. When navigating a menu I am loathe to miss the more exotic offerings, but something about the Hanger Steak called to me. I'm glad I listened, because the sunchoke creamed spinach, and hen of the wood mushrooms made for a major-chord of flavors that almost made me fall out of my seat. A perfect char on the outside and a satisfying flavor that would put any high end steak house to shame. Try it with their Broadside Cabernet. Their wines by the glass offered both variety and value. The Cote de Haut-Beaune Pinot Noir was also marvelous and offered a great hint of spice. The ambiance was both lively, and inviting. We will definitely return. Perilla is not to be missed.

I ate dinner at Perilla tonight for Restaurant Week. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious -- each course was great and kept me wanting to eat more regardless of how full I was. The service was impeccable and the atmosphere was low-key which I really appreciated. I want to go back and try everything on the menu! I recommend the Spicy Duck Meatballs as an appetizer - so tasty!

My meal and experience at Perilla was amazing! My waiter was extremely informative- he made fantastic recommendations and clearly/detailed explained the menu. The wine list is extensive and very afforadable, we ordered a bottle that our waiter recommended which was delicious. I had the Spicy Duck Meatballs appetizer which were OUT OF THIS WORLD! Truly one of the most delicious things I've ver eaten. For my entree I had the Hanger Steak (also recommeded by our waiter) that was truly cooked to perfection- flavorful, juicy, with delicious sides. The food was absolutely incredible, super fresh, and great portions and value. The only thing I didn't like was the decor-half of the restaurant is retro with 70's style white booths, the other half is wooden rustic small tables. When I go back I will definitly request to sit in a booth.

The food had amazing flavor and was outstanding. Some of the best I have ever had. Calamari appetizer salad is simply the best. The pork and duck breast were also outstanding. Risotto and mushroom sides were delicious along with the lemon pie desert. Can be quite loud when restaurant is fill but you do not have to shout to be heard at your table. Service was attentive and not overbearing. I will eat at again next time in NY and would recommend to anyone going to try it.
