Delicious!
I rarely go to the trouble of writing a restaurant review and so many restaurants really don't merit one! Perilla is above and beyond serving delicious flavor and providing excellent service! Recommended dishes were the Peeky Toe Crab app, the Duck Breast which was tender and juicy and the Chocolate Souffle, also good was the Calamari app, the Lobster Tagliatelle and the Pumpkin Tart. It was a meal to remember!!

Loved it!
My boyfriend and I went here for his birthday. The service was attentive, friendly, and our waiter helped suggest a great wine under $50. We split one order of the hand cut tagliatelle, which they brought out in 2 separate plates. I had the gnudi, and he had duck. Both were excellent. We finished our meal with the rhubarb sorbet cake with a little birthday candle on it. We were there late, so the waiter's shift was over before our meal, but the transition between servers was seamless. The ambience is lovely, very romantic, and it was not excruciatingly loud like some other places. Perilla is definitely in my top 5 favorite restaurants in the entire city.

Great food, Excellent service
Went here with very high expectations and Perilla certainly delivered. The food was great. Started with the hamachi and gnudi. The hamachi was pretty good, but the citrus somewhat overpowered the fish. The gnudi on the other hand was truly divine. Quite possibly one of the best things I've ever eaten. We had the duck and cod for our entrees which were both very well thought out and delicious. Also had the creamed corn which was so rich but so good. We had the donuts and smores for dessert which capped off the meal perfectly. So there's not doubt the food here is great, but what really sets Perilla apart from other high end restaurants is the absolutely impeccable service. Waiter was very knowledgeable of the menu and offered us honest recommendations. We will be back, but next time with friends so we can try more dishes.

really great food
Honestly I have been eating out a lot lately and this was a memorable meal. There were 3 of us, got 6 dishes and 2 desserts. I tasted all and they were all really really good. LOVED the soft sheel crabs and the hamachi app. I will go back.

Awesome brunch!
I tried Perilla for the first time this past weekend and was very happy with my choice. The decor is tasteful and cheery with fresh flowers in vases, offset by new wave rock and indie sounds played just at the right volume to enjoy. There was a few other tables occupied so it was not a long wait for a noisy brunch like you might find at Prune, which I also love by the way. The staff was kind and courteous and was attentive and the food was like nothing I've had before. Try the grits with Shrimp and Deep Fried egg, this isn't the awful stuuf you get at a truck stop down south, this is grits a gourmand can love! It was so good I didn't want to leave and four decafs later was sitting sipping coffe over grill toasted whole grian bread and fruit compote. I will definately try this place for dinner or lunch asap and would be back for brunch too. It was that good! Peace Glen

Spectacular food
My girlfriend and I went to Perilla because both of us are kinda hooked on Top Chef and the owner of the restaurant is the winner of one of the seasons. The food exceeded all expectations. It was extremely well done and very creative (although we went there on a week-day and the place was half-empty). I had scallops with chocolate which was one of the best seafood plates I've ever had. Highly recommend it. The place is rather small and intimate, so it's perfect for dates and couples. It's not a "happening" kind of place, but if you're the sort of person who goes to the restaurants for the food, not for the crowd, then Perilla is a sure bet. P.S. As a side note, the Perilla bar has some outstanding scotch whisky selections. If you're into whisky, try Springbank - it's relatively little-known in the U.S. but has a spectacular flavor and smokiness to it.

Great Food - Amazing Service
My three daughters and I had dinner at Perilla last night to cap off a day in the city. I must admit that we do not eat out often and two of us are not particularly adventerous eaters. We were slightly intimidated by the menu at first, since very little was familiar to us. However, our waiter answered any questions we had and made some suggestions. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals from the appetizers, through the main course, to the desserts. I especially enjoyed the grilled quaile (a first for me.) The sauce it was served with made each bite perfection. The staff anticipated our needs without being obtrusive. We had a wonderful experience. I found the price to be reasonable and I would highly recommend Perilla to foodies and food novices alike. Thank you!
