I have now been to Per Se five times and, much to my surprise, each time it improves. They have changed their menu to a price-fixed nine (9) course extravaganza. Each time it has taken me around 3 hours to complete the meal. They have a remakrable way of combining texture, scents, and seasonings to keep your mouth watering for hours on end. During my most recent visit they brough out black truffles the size of potatoes to shred over pasta. I'm not sure how what they will come up with for my next visit, but not knowing is half the fun!

Per Se was a wonderful dining experience. The atmosphere was excellent, and the wait staff was above and beyond what anyone could expect. The quality of food was spectacular, with no detail left untouched. The flavors were rich and inspired, and it was a pleasure to sample every dish in our meal. I can see why the Michelin Guide rated this restaurant one of only three 3-star restaurants in all of New York City. The only negative point I can give is the price. The food is great, but I'm not sure any meal is worth $200 per person. If you're looking to spend that much however, you will be very well served by Per Se.

From the moment you enter the restaurant you know it's going to be good... I arrived a few minutes earlier than expected so they sat my friend and I down in their posh little "waiting area" as we waited for the rest of the group to arrive. Immediately, they brought over champagne. Then we were seated in a very intimate private room with an enormous window overlooking Central Park. Everything was immaculate. The service is beyond words. As we chatted over a course that featured confit chestnuts, a friend mentioned how she loved them. As if on cue, our server brought a huge bowl full of them over to her. Another friend mentioned how his favorite breakfast was scrambled eggs with truffles. It seemed almost immediately, the server then brought over an extra course of delicately scrambled eggs with a HEAVY sprinkling of black truffles. The service was so excellent, you hardly had to look up before someone was right at your side. The service, however, is just one reason why this restaurant is AMAZING. The food, of course, takes center stage. Every course was immaculate and cooked to perfection. We were given the grand tour of the kitchen as well, and marveled at its cleanliness and orderliness. It was an excellent experience!

This place is way too stuffy. Plus, for a place that prides itself on good atmosphere I was amazed to hear the chef screaming at the waitstaff from the kitchen. But the service is excellent and the food is amazing, if pretentious. They actually have VIP salt service and truffle shaving. I think it was behavior like this on the part of the rich that caused the French Revolution.

We have been fortunate to have been able to eat here several times. We had the white and black truffle dinner last New Years eve and have celebrated my birthday as well as my husbands here. Perfection is perfection.

I had so been looking forward to experiencing the cuisine of Per Se, and although I knew it would be good, I was amazed at the complete package. The decor has a calming effect amidst all the hustle and bustle of New York. The staff makes you feel as though you are the most important person in the room i.e. impeccable service. And last, but surely not least, the food was an expression of Mr. Keller's passion for taste, delicacy, and presentation. It was truly one of the most wonderful experiences of my life. I cannot remeber having eaten as well, even though my husband and I have travelled to Europe and eaten in many fine restaurants. Just to let you know, that we arrived back in Mtl. about an hour ago (we had lunch there today), and I felt I had to send my compliments immediately. I look forward to returning in the very near future.

First of all, anybody waiting more than 2 months to eat here is a Son and will of course be disappointed. I don't care if you're a bec fin, no restaurant is worth a two month wait. I made reservations exactly one week in advance no problems and had one of the best tables in the place, so don't let people tell you this two months in advance bs. As for the food and ambience: the food is sick. I mean you are full of dung if you can find anything substantially wrong with any dish. Keller runs a tight-ship and everything is prepared flawlessly. The service, however, is actually a step behind flawless. And the ambience is pleasant with good views of the park, but I don't like the fact that its located in the Time Warner Center next to two other restaurants, like you're in some upscale mall restaurant. I mean granted two of the restaurants on the Time Warner center rank in the top 50 in the world, but to me they could just as easily be a PF Chang's and Capital Grille. But if you can get a reservation, go and enjoy. The food will not make you wish you died and went to heaven but you won't regret it either.
