Oh, what a night!
My husband and I had long spoken of going to Per Se, & our daughters surprised us for our 35 anniversary by taking us. The night was perfection! The food was sublime. Each dish was remarkable. The food was like nothing we had ever experienced before. The oysters and pearls were heavenly--the rigatini with truffles were amazing--the squab was perfection! The food was only part of the experience. The service was attentive, knowledgeable, and caring without being "in your face". The views were spectacular. Although the price is high, if you have a special occasion, Per Se will make a memorable evening!

Still Supreme
You go back thinking "It can't still be a great experience." It is. Supreme in every way with a staff that is genuinely appreciative that you're here.

NYC's Best
The food, service and atmosphere at Per Se are all extraordinary. I have been fortunate to dine at Per Se twice for lunch and its view of Central Park would be hard to match. Even at $275 per person (service is included with that!) Per Se is an exceptional value that is worth every penny of that cost and an extra tip for the staff. Although Jean Georges, Le Bernardin, Daniel, and many others in NYC are outstanding restaurants, in my book Per Se is New York City's best.

Amazing quality and service!
My parents took me and my brother here for his 18th birthday. The view is amazing, the wait staff was so kind, and the food was amazing. It's no cheap date, but it's all worth it. The staff got a signed menu for my brother, it was amazing! The portions are small, but at the end of the meal, you can eat unlimited chocolates until you are full. If you have the money to spend, this could be one of the best restaurants in Manhattan.

An American Treasure
I have been going to Per Se since it opened. It is not a restaurant for everyone, which is not merely due to its high prices, but due to the extent of the meal and the simplicity of the cooking. This is unfortunate, because what Tom Keller, Chef Jonathan Benno and the entire team have d and continue to evolve is an exercise in egalitarianism and perfection which is equal to anything Michelin rates as three stars in Europe. Whether you are a new customer or someone who has been many times, the experience is friendly, warm and supportive understanding the breadth of the culinary experience you are about to explore. While price precludes everyone experiencing Per Se, especially in these hard times, it is the ultimate dining experience for a special event. DO NOT EXPECT EXCESS when dining here. There aren't three sauces on every dish. There are not towers of food going to the ceiling. There is simplicity and subtlety in every dish. While some might suggest that the food is bland, they are, simply put ,wrong. Each dish is a virtuoso, with a range of subtle to striking flavors that brings tears to your eyes. The soups of Chef Keller/Benno are the best in New York. Classic dishes are the "oysters and pearls" oyster/tapioca/caviar and the egg custard and Perigordine sauce. The list goes on and on. The risotto dishes and the agnolotti (baby ravioli) are poetry. BEWARE of the cost of Fresh White Truffles!!! If it doesn't send you to debtors prison, go for it! Fish, shellfish, poultry and meat are truly suberb, as are all deserts. As great as is the food, so is the service. Far from many haughty restaurants in New York, the service is, like the food, simple, customer friendly, and extremely knowledgable. Wine service, including wine by the glass to match the food, is as good as it gets and will NEVER take advantage of the client. The meal takes a very long time. It should not be viewed as a meal, rather an afternoon or night of theater. Lunch is, to me, the preferable meal, especially with the views of Central Park. All and all Per Se is the definition of graciousness, service and fine dining, from your entrance to your exit. DON'T GO IN WITH A CHIP ON YOUR SHOULDER LOOKING TO FIND FAULT! Go, enjoy and consider yourself lucky to be able to experience an American trasure.

Let Down
Was expecting much more in the way of taste and elegance of the dishes. Overall the food was no better than most NYC restaurant meals. The service however, was much better - some of the best I have ever had. I was ready for the price, but frankly would rather go to 3 very nice dinners at 3 different places than one dinner at Per Se.
