Good, but over priced food
I often eat here and have ordered for delivery. Food is pretty good, but restaurant is way too small. So, just deliver/take out. Order the spicy black bean soup. It's excellent.

Complete rip off! I ordered an avocado black bean salad with shrimp which arrived with no avocado, and 3 beans. I called, they refused to provide a refund and instead sent a replacement which was absolutely tasteless.

Consistently botched delivery
I really want to give Pequena a better review, I really do. I live about 2 blocks away from the place and can't seem to get up off of my couch most cold days to go pick up my own food. They're nice enough to bring the food right to me. Only problem is they can never ever ever get the order right. My husband and I are pretty predictable when it comes to our orders here. We get the exact same thing every time. I order the chicken enchiladas and he gets the chicken quesadilla. He asks to please have the guacamole on the side and an extra salsa in addition to the one that comes with (it's tiny, not quite enough for the 2 quesadillas that come in the order). He does this to avoid the sauces making the quesadilla soggy. Without fail, EVERY SINGLE TIME... they get the order wrong. EVERY TIME! It's insane. They don't forget to charge us for the extra salsa, but they do forget to send it in the bag. We call, they take another 30-40 minutes to send the salsa and then we just end up telling them to forget it. Tonight was the last time. We will not be ordering from Pequena any more. Dining in might be easier because you have someone there to correct any mistakes on the spot. Any delivery orders should be done at your own risk.

They are so rude when they answer the phone. The prices are ridiculous for the quality and quantity of food. The place is too small. Long wait for delivery. No burritos and no egg whites when requested!!

Tacos could be better...
On the positive side, the meat and tortillas are higher quality than you might expect. However, they are clearly resting on the fact that they are basically the only game in town when it comes to credible mexican in Fort Greene. I ordered pork tacos for delivery and the three tacos were placed unappetizingly right on top of the beans. This makes the otherwise good tortillas mushy and messy. You might expect that they'd add some contrasting crispness or flavor to the meat filling buy you'd be wrong - no lettuce, cabbage, onions, or any fresh vegetable other than a bit of guac. Very very bland. On top of that they forgot to include any salsa of any kind. Basically they are getting pwned by Loading Dock in terms of taco artistry and flavor. If they were to step it up they could do a lot more business in the neighborhood.

A Favorite Spot in the Neighborhood
I am not sure what people are complaining about--I love Pequena, and I regularly eat there for dinner or brunch or even get take out. The menu is on the smaller side, but I consider that a plus--it means everything is fresh and tasty. Nearly everything is excellent--especially the black bean dip and the plantain and black bean quesadilla. Wait times can be a little long sometimes, but the food and tasty spiked rum limeade are totally worth it!
