We went here for the first time and we didn't care for either of the plates we ordered. The spinach pie was dry and pretty tasteless. The macaroni and cheese dish had a good flavor but was way too soupy. The greens that came with these dishes were okay, but nothing imaginative was included. Regarding both entrees, the quantities were small. The service was good and I don't know how the waitress managed it, since she seemed to be the only person handling the whole room. Atmosphere was cute, but the benches that served as banquettes were uncomfortabale to sit on after a while. All in all, I wouldn't go back.

we go to penelope often for a nice, relaxing dinner. they have really yummy sandwiches and salads and decent wine....however, we have stopped going for brunch b/c the wait is insane and the food is really nothing so exciting.

Great place to go in the evenings. I had a tasty grilled chicken sandwich, but I have yet to try their brunch. It's a mob scene every Sunday morning. Last week the wait was 1 hour and 40 minutes! What is going to happen when the weather gets better?

I love this place but don't bother calling for delivery or take out during the lunch hours. I've tried on multiple seperate occassions to get through and place an order for 20 minutes finally gave up and ordered from somewhere else.

There are very few choices in Murray Hill so it gets packed the food is good but we waited over an hour only to be rushed out after 20 minutes. The egg sandwich was on par with anything you can get at a local deli and the coffee was not good. Maybe a weekday or evening experience is better, but if you want a quick breakfast there are many other places. I'd rather go downtown for a better brunch experience. I've been to Penelopes a few times before but I won't go again for brunch.

Great food, good atmosphere, easy on the wallet. Perfect neighborhood place...always packed!

My best friend and I went here for dinner the other night and really enjoyed it. We both had the grilled chicken club and it was good. The bacon wasn't as crisp as I would have liked. For desert we had the cookies and milk - chocolate peanut butter oatmeal and double chocolate chip. The place is cute and kitchey. Our service was good, we weren't rushed and when we needed our waiter (who was really cute by the way) he was easy to flag down. I can't wait to go back and try their brunch. Oh, they only take cash.
