    Ummm...Average

Went there with four other people, had subpar food (I had the veggie "where the hell did all the flavor go" burger). Other guests had the "Best part of my French Toast is the Fruit" order. Why wait an hour to get a seat at a place that serves nothing particularly original, and doesn't even do classics very well? The ambience is great, creating a sense of intimacy with other diners despite the tightness of the space. The waiter was rude at points, disturbed that one guest returned an undercooked burger. Only suggestion, don't expect much and just go to Brazil Coffee House across the street to wait out the hour wait.

    Great Murray Hill Spot

Charming restaurant located in the heart of Murray Hill. Perfect for casual dates, dinner with a friend or even takeout. I would not recommend for big groups as the restaurant is pretty small. If you want to go for weekend brunch expect a long line and wait but during the week you can usually walk right in. My favorites include the veggie burger, chicken currie salad, chicken meatball sandwich and of course the spinach and artichoke dip. My roommates and I order takeout from here usually a couple times a week. All in all, you can't go wrong at Penelope, it's affordable, charming and yummy!

    Great food, bad service

Have been there 3 times for lunch. Each time, my friends and I thought the service was terrible. The staff is generally inattentive, rude, or both. However, the food is delicious, if perhaps a bit overpriced, and the decor is lovely. Too bad the service is so bad.

    Well worth the wait

I come here at least twice a month for weekend brunch. The wait is always absurdly long so we just make sure to put our name in about an hr and a half before we know we will be starving...then hang out in Madison Sq. park or the coffee shop across the street. Food is amazing!! Great fries, chicken sausage, omelettes...but its the Veggie Burger that will truly change your life!

    Murray Hill Gem!

This is my absolutely favorite restaurant in Manhattan. I live in Murray Hill and it's my go to! The atmosphere is relaxed and homey and makes you feel like you've suddenly stepped into Cape Cod. The food is great, especially the spinach artichoke dip. yum! The lines can get a little long since they don't take reservations but it is worth the wait most of the time. The brunch is delicious. Pumpkin waffles...Love this place!

    Awesome breakfast sandwich

I have only ever had breakfast here, and the Penny egg sandwich is fantastic! The croissant is perfect and kinda buttery, the eggs are well made, and the pesto just goes so perfectly. The chicken apple sausages are also very satisfying, and the raspberry coffee cake is delicious as well. The place is very cute, and quiet on weekdays. The waiters are friendly and helpful, and not pretentiously so.

Nice change from the Murray Hill norm

The food here is a nice change from your usual brunch menus in Murray Hill...It's a cozy little place with some good comfort food.
