    soooo cutteeee, but sooo crowded

Very cute and very busy. But they give you free coffee and the fall weather was perfect for sitting outside on their benches while we waited (over an hour - for our table) My brunch was really good. I ordered the Spinach Pie, yum. Brunch special included coffee or a mimosa - fabulous! However what I DID NOT LIKE, was that we waited forever to get a table and actually bought a lot of food, and we were rushed rushed rushed to leave. A deal breaker for me. Also, they charged my card for the wrong table and had to void it. Annoying.

    Unimpressed

This place is nice and cute, but the way they handle their customer service is more like they are doing you a favor by feeding you than anything. I live 3 blocks away and they've only agreed to delivery once YET they are listed as delivery friendly. I just tried to call and make an order for pick up and they wouldn't take it because it's not 11:45am. I need to food at 12:30; so not placing the order until 11:45am is too close for comfort, but they didn't care and looks like they are fine not getting my money (I was ordering for 15 so that would have been a decent profit for them). I just want to take them off of my radar, because after 2 years of going to them, I am frustrated at how hard it is to get them to feed me via delivery or otherwise. Waits are long. Food is good. People are polite. But the Food and Polite attitude are no substitute for efficiency and customer service. Penelope puts Penelope first. Why? Not sure. This place is OK, but not worth your time or money.

    Huh?

I don't get this place. Always packed with people waiting and the food is bland as can be. There's more taste in Florida early bird special restaurants than in this food. The hummus tasted store bought and the guac is served with bread. No flavor or spice in either. And our waiter was dull. Why does there have to be tasteless food in NY?

    Great Feel!

I came here last night I was surprised it was so crowded on a Monday night but It was only a 20min so I waited. I was seated in exactly 20 min. The waitress was nice but she did not come to the table ofte, just once. The food was good, overall this is a very nice place the atmosphere was very cool very trendy. Try the RED VELVET!

    seriously delicious brunch

Went to Penelope today for brunch and all I can say is YUM. I got the pumpkin waffles and they were beyond delicious. The pumpkin butter was an excellent accompaniment. My friend got the eggs with salmon and she also really enjoyed it. Very good food for a very reasonable price

    Once-a-week Affair!

The food at Penelope is absolutely delicious! I go with my friends at least once a week. The Brunch is one of the best in the city, especially the Penny Egg sandwich. At night, the fish & chips is to die for! So crispy!! The environment is perfect for relxing with friends. Dimmly lit with windows open and the perfect music in the background- The Beatles, Led Zepplin etc. It's wonderful! I especially recommend Penelope on a rainy afternoon. The atmosphere is perfect and feels great coupled with a Belini or Champagne with brunch. Oh, and don't forget dessert. The best red velvet cake in the city- hands down. I am a true advocate for this place.

    Great restaurant

We stayed in NY for 9 days and luckily found this restaurant. The food is really good, the staff very friendly and the restaurant is cozy. The only drawback are the noise and fries for breakfast (not a healthy option). Compared to other restaurants in NY this is a gem!
