    Great, but not the best

Been here on many times. calamari is always a great choice. not the best bolongese sauce, but the ravioli was great. most notable is the service. very friendly staff, not just the waiters, but everyone, host, busboy, everyone. fantastic artwork around the rest, mix of modern and italian eatery scenes. really sets the mood. great for lunch

    Fantastic Meal

I have tried out many places in Little Italy and I have just crowned this place as my favorite. I usually go to Da Nico's but they don't offer their lunch menu on Saturday's and I was not going to pay their dinner prices. Pellegrino's had a well priced lunch menu. They start you with 4 different types of bread. The services was professional. We had gnocchi's, pasta in red clam sauce (amazing) and chicken parm. The food was out of this world. I am going back soon.

    A Lunchtime Marvel

Do not hesitate to commute downtown for this one! The three of us were seated quickly by a well-dressed and super-friendly server. Prompt delivery of warm yummy bread and iced water. All servers were friendly and knowledgable, especially about the wines. We felt as though we were long term friends invited into the private dining room of our main server, even though it was rather busy for a weekday lunch. Wine was excellent and well-priced and the service was amazing. All three of our entrees were very tasty and good value for money. Our review only lost half a point for the noise of the traffic. Nevertheless we left the restaurant after relaxing and enjoying our meal, wine and the service. We'll be back!

    Enjoyed it very much

My husband, daughter and I went to Little Italy and decided to eat at Pelligrino's because of what I read here. We were there on a Saturday and the roads were blocked off which was great. We decided to eat outside under the umbrellas so we could watch the people. It started raining so we moved under the big outside awning. It was great sitting there while the rain came down. We were there before 4 pm so we ordered off the lunch menu which is cheaper than the dinner menu. We all loved our food. My daughter and I got pasta dishes and my husband got chicken parmigiana. They were all great. The tiramisu (which our waiter said was homemade) was excellent too. We never felt rushed and our waiter was very attentive. The restaurant inside was very nice too.

A Must Visit when in New York

On a short break in March 2005, my partner and I, with two friends, stumbled upon this restaurant whilst visiting Little Italy. What a find ! Friendly and professional staff, coupled with excellent food, ensured a brilliant evening. The atmosphere rating only dropped 0.5, as a small part of the night we had to endure another diner with a voice resembling a "foghorn". (I think an over enthusiastic salesman!) Nevertheless, we will certainly visit again when we are in this great city once more.

    Excellent Food & Service

My husband, son and I found ourselves in Little Italy when we were in NY recently and we had no idea where to eat. We walked Mulberry St. until we found a place that appealed to us. My son noticed Pellegrino's and we crossed over to look in but only 1 table had customers so we hesitated, thinking that the best restaurant would be the busiest. How wrong we were. Three servers escorted us to our table and took our coats, held out our chairs and offered menus. One person brought us drinks and another told us the evenings specials even though they were listed on a sheet inside the menus. Yet another person poured water and offered bottled waters. We rolled the dice on dinner selections and sadly passed up the seafood special which a young man at a neighboring table ordered. But our food was spectacular. The pastas were fresh, the sauce was perfect, and the meats were very tasty. We recommend spinach ravioli, veal marsala, and shrimp over pasta only because we can say first hand these dishes are excellent. We feel that every dish served at this restaurant is also excellent. Don't pass up the desserts because the Tiramisu, cheese cake, and chocolate cake were also very very good. Twelve stars for Pellegrino's!

    Delicious food, Wonderful service!

This is a fabulous place. Whether there's just 2 of you or you have a group of ppl, you're guaranteed to be satisfied with skillfully prepared Italian dishes of high quality and freshness. The waiters there are very friendly and courteous. When I walked in, someone took my coat and another led me to our table. After menus are given, our waiter read us the specials for the day and presented desserts in the same way after the meal. My friend and I shared a spinach ravioli, calamari over linguini and tiramisu cake for dessert. SO GOOD. This place is a must try!
