    Italian Goodness

We went here for my best friends birthday, the service and the food were excellent, it was a little pricey, but it is true you get what you pay for we enjoyed it, we had a reservation and sat outside. Drinks: the best Sangria ever Appetizers: Fried Calamari, excellent Grilled Portobello Mushroom, excellent Main Course: Rigatoni w/sausage & broccoli with garlic and oil, Spinach Ravioli Dessert: Tiramisu, and a Lemon and Fruit Tart We had a great time and were not disappointed.

Took a group to Pellegrino's last week. Had been to Little Italy twice before and wanted to try someplace new. Read the reviews and felt this was one of the best. If you are looking for good Italian food don't go here. Over priced and over rated.

    Best Italian Food in NYC

We have been going to Pellegrinos for over 10 years. We have our kids graduations and events there. The food is always terrific and Anthony and Shaban make you feel like family. Everyone who we have ever taken there goes back. My brother lives in Maryland and whenever he comes to NYC the first place he wants to go is Pellegrinos. It is a little pricier thane some of the red sauce places, but worth every dime. Try one of the specials and make sure to have one of the homemade deserts. The cannoli is to die for. Enjoy!!!

    Beyond fresh and delicious

I’ve actually been to this place twice and it gets better every time. The pasta and ingredients are unbelievably fresh and prepared to order. I ordered the veal parmesan, which was sublime. My fiancé had the penne alla vodka, which because she's a vegetarian, they made without meat. Her pasta was so good that I knocked her unconscious and took her plate. Sure, I have to get a new fiancé now, but that pasta was worth it. The atmosphere is congenial with enough space for everyone to sit comfortably and the service is truly impeccable. Moreover, I’ve gone in twice with no reservations and I’ve never had a problem being sat. I cannot more strongly endorse this restaurant.

    Our "go to"

We stumbled upon Pellegrino's right after we moved to the city. Now anytime we go to Little Italy we choose Pellegrino's and anytime an out of towner visits we take them here. I recommend the pasta with the asparagus, proscuitto and peppers! It is excellent! The Chianti is reasonable and good! We always end up buying a bottle. If you can make it for lunch the portions are generous and reasonably priced. The only quam I have is that last weekend I took a friend and after ranting about the food and price, Pellegrino's cut their lunch menu! It was 1:30pm and they only had the dinner menu out. I asked the waiter and he advised "they didn't have a lunch menu." I'm know it is due to the holidays and the fact that it was slammed! Every NY restuarant right now seems to be packing up their lunch menus and pulling out the expensive dinner menus! So with that said go when its not a huge tourist season b/c they have great food, reasonable prices and good wine! Would recommend Jan-Nov!

    Our Italian Restaurant

We had a front window seat at a table for two looking out onto Mulberry Street in Little Italy. Our waiter was excellent. Actually, we had constantly perfect service the whole time we were there and felt that if we even twitched an eyebrow that our smallest need would be attended to by someone. The regular menu was priced perfectly for a romantic evening out, and the food was outstanding!!! So was the wine list!!! You cannot get this kind of Italian food or service anywhere else in the United States. This is our small Italian Restauraunt forever more when we are in the city.
