Went here with a party of 5. We ordered so much off the menu expecting to be wowed, almost all the dishes had absolutely no salt. Asparugus with the egg was ok, kind of bland. We shared an entree portion of homeade pasta with veal ragu and another with rabbit ragu, both were so underseasoned no matter what u put on it it didn't helpWhen we complained to the waiter his excuse was people don't like salt?! Shared 2 pizzas, 1 white and 1 with spicy sausage those were decent. my skate was good but had no texture and my 2 friends had the pork which had a wierd off putting flavor. Save yourself the $ and cook at home

The service here is appalling. We waited nearly an hour in a half-empty restaurant so we would be forced to drink more. When we finally sat down the waiters were inexplicably mean and acted as if they were doing us a favor in waiting on us, and became blatently rude as the evening progressed, basically ruining our evening. And overpriced, mediocre food. Avoid if you actually want to enjoy your evening.

We had to wait 50 minutes to be seated for our 9:00 reservation, after which we were hardly given an apology. The waitress was friendly and helpful enough, but the food was unmemorable and highly overpriced. Disappointed. I would not go here again.

i lived in soho for 4 years before trying this place... it was a favorite of one friend of mine. i had no reservation when i went there with a friend who they immediately began treating like a date. the waitress asked if we "understood" the menu or did we need a translation. i declined and said i was fluent in Italian (the menu is only in italian so they can have leverage to talk down to you where needed). either she is deaf or pretended not to hear. she came back and began reciting it to us. my friend was so shaken up by all of this he didn't know what to order and he asked a question about one of the items on the menu, and she literally ordered for him. after she left the table he said he had not even made up his mind yet. later i was mid-sentence when they brought out our entrees and had just taken a piece of bread off my plate and that second the busboy literally that second swiped my plate away from under my hand. The food was not good enough to get a big head about and how could one enjoy? This account does not even begin to explain how awful the service was. They really need to be taken down a few pegs. I wish they would shut down.

Do not go there without reservation. I have been dining here a few times. I made a mistake not making reservation last night. The host sent my friend and I to the basement wine bar. The food was still nice as before but the service was really bad. First, we sit at a 4 people table. The table was very narrow, my friend who sit across from me, our plates keep bump into each other’s plate. It took a long time to get our waiter’s attention each time we needed him or any of them. In the middle of our meal they let another couple interrupt our meal and sit at our table. Not crazy about spending decent amount of money for a nice restaurant and have to share table with total strangers like you would in a fast food restaurant. That totally turn us off at that point. Then at the end, the bill was way off. The list of dishes we ordered with price break down was correct, but the total is $50 more than it should be. As the whole meal’s experience we couldn’t get the server’s attention so my friend had to go to the bar to get the guy’s attention. When he found out he mess up the total he only corrected it without any apology what so ever! I feel bad since I recommended the place to her. This is one of the worst dining experience in my book for sure.

While we liked the quaint atmosphere with the plank table and tea lights, here were our major problems with our experience: Our server was totally unwilling to offer suggestions or try to accomodate our vegetarian party member, and when we did eventually order plain pasta with pomodora sauce, he charged $28 for it as though it was the same pasta with rabbit dish. Both red meat dishes were extremely rare, nearly raw, even though they were ordered medium. 3 or 4 dishes were unappetizingly over seasoned. $42 steak came alone on plate, not even a garnish, and without a side dish suggestion by the server. Suckling pig was overseasoned and potatoes were cold and mushy - terrible overall. Waiter was a punk, filthy clothes, wore a ski hat the whole time, didn't speak courteously, was unhelpful and unprofessional. Meat and Cheese plate was great.

I went there for group dinner and though I agree with the other reviewer that it was noisy, I must admit that I liked the atmosphere. Some guy was incredibly noisy in the table next to us, but after a while I could care less when the appetizers came. The baby octopus with chile was amazing! The fresh tomato with mozzarella was delicious. My main course was good, but not as memorable as the bread pudding. I will definitely go back there for dessert and appetizers!
