Service good, food not so good.
It seemed like 2-3 short years ago I was at a geographical nexus of a dozen Chinese places with decent-to-good food for cheap, with quick delivery. Those were the days. First-time patron of Pearls today. Pluses: Staff made phone order very easy. Very quick delivery. Well-packaged, no spillage. Reusable delivery bins (if you're into that). The drawback: Food wasn't very good, below average even, and kind of small portions relative to what I've experienced with other places. General Ching's chicken was a disappointment. My understanding was that this would be essentially the same as General Tso's chicken. It's not. I like my General Tso's crispy fried in a spicy-hot sacue. Pearls Gen. Ching's Chicken was swimming in a soupy sauce, with no crispiness or spiciness involved. There seemed to be a mixture of fresh and canned vegetables too--I never need to see any of those tiny, rubbery baby ears of corn, or any of those rubber mushrooms. Also, there were only about 10-12 small chunks of chicken. I know I've had portions at least twice that size, which is nice if you're ordering for two people, or don't mind leftover the next day. Given that the prices for Pearls are at least 15% higher, this means you're paying more, getting less. I know times are tough, and that a lot of places have gone out of business, but in terms of value, this is an important thing to take into account. Also ordered fried wonton, which was a good thing since there were two of us eating. This was probably the best part of the order, except...they came on a bed of limp, iceberg lettuce, so the wonton on bottom were a little soggy. Memo to kitchen: Iceberg lettuce not necessary, desired or welcome with fried items. Finally, we had also ordered cold sesame noodles--not bad, not good, not flavorful. Just bland. In short, unless a few more places close during this economic downturn, Pearls will stay well-down in the queue. And I still haven't found what I'm lookin' for.

Usually awesome, but they do have off-days
Been ordering and dining at Pearls for 5 years. They are great, good prices, excellent handmade wontons, love the "house special bean curd". Extremely fast delivery. But...they do have their off-days.... they must have a crappy chef working 1 or 2 nights a week (I think Monday and Tuesday) because that is when you get the watery sauce - as a reviewer mentioned below. I have only had this problem for delivery, but not very often, maybe 5 times over the last 5 years. Dining in the restaurant has never disappointed me.

Satisfied but not take out...Horrible
We ate at pearls recommended by a friend. Our food was delicious not problem. But then I ordered an extra meal to take out. Scallops with lobster sauce for my mom. It was not good. I knew something was wrong because the food came too fast. It had no taste...it taste like water. We were highly disappointed because when we dined there, the food was good.

No longer good
I used to really enjoy Pearls and it's predecessor Broadway Cottage. BUT, now service is really terrible, the waiter actually looks away from the customers and the food is only adequate. I'm sad. I won't return.

Great food!
I have been going to Pearls for many years now, even before they relocated and changed their name from Broadway Cottage. The food is great for the price and the service is always fast. The szechuan dumplings in hot oil are extremely tasty! Always a great idea for delivery or dining in.

Delivery, not so hot
Food was not so good. Egg roll was empty, instead of well-filled and plush. The dumplings were dry and sticky. The noodles were a little too salty for me. I would not order from here again.

Great Delivery. Fast.
I've ordered food from Pearls twice, and both times the food was extremely tasty, especially when the price was taken into consideration. The Won Tons. Oh, the won tons! The won ton wrappers are made from scratch, I think, at least they taste like they are. Recommend: Chow Fun.
