Peanut Butter & Co
Posted by Koz on 04/05/2005
While visiting NYC with daughter and granddaughters, one day when the kids had been so good to traipse all over doing what the grown-ups wanted to do, we took the girls to this restaurant for dinner. It was great! The three adults had the sampler, and our favorite was the White Chocolate Peanut Butter. The non-adventurous children liked their plain peanut butter and jelly on white bread.

This place is awesome.....gotta try it. And, you can take the peanutbutter sandwich concoctions and make them at home yourself. I am now hooked on the chocolate chip cookie - p.b & creamcheese & choc. chips....

The peanut butter sandwhiches were quite good. I especially recommend the cinnamon raisin peanut butter. The place is very cramped space wise, so avoid at peak times unless you are opting for take out.

The thought of opening a restaurant that specializes in peanut butter might sound ridiculous at first but now I wish I had thought of the idea. This place continues to thrive with such childhood treats like the peanut butter and jelly sandwich and fluffernutter. I particularly favored "The Elvis" which is a grilled peanut butter sandwich with sliced bananas and honey. This sandwich was definitely a tasty treat fit for a king or The King himself. My wife's favorite sandwich is the plain ole peanut butter and strawberry jelly sandwich which she chomped down with such a quickness. She also thoroughly enjoyed snacking on the peanut butter sampler which is a sampling of peanut butters with carrots (her favorite veggie) and celery sticks. The only downside to this restaurant is the space and the seating. Be prepared to be seated in cramp tables with little elbow space. But that should be the least of your concerns because these tasty delights make up for the slight inconvenience.

Although the prices are a teensy bit steep for specialty peanut butter sandwiches, this place is a must-try for all of you peanut butter-philes out there. Opt for take out, though, because there is little elbow room on the premises. Additional schapps for the staff who are helpful, friendly, and patient.
