The food here is excellent and a great addition to the neighborhood. However the service is slow and awkward. The servers don't seem to know what they are doing and walk around with blank looks on their faces. It is also painfully slow, I waited 15 minutes for a sandwich and soup to go.

As someone who has frequented vegetarian restaurants for 20 years, I must say that this is one of the nicest looking establishments I've ever been to. The food is just as good. If you don't mind eating good fats, I highly recommend the seitan sandwich. The seitan is delicious with a light tempura like batter topped with pesto, a very tasty creamy cashew cheese sauce on a homemade foccaccia bread. The bread is not really foccaccia, but more dense and buttery, similar to that of a biscuit. The pizzas are cheesless but still delicious. The roasted vegetable pizza with a well made thin crust, good amount of sauce, and very tasty roasted vegetables. Every salad I've tried (Asian salad, Quinoa, Ceasar salad) has been wonderful. The Ceaser dressing is the best vegan ceaser dressing I've ever had. Have not tried the desserts yet but everyone I've dined with there has enjoyed them. In addition to the great food, the place is designed really well and the service is good.

Great sandwiches - had the roasted pumpkin & nut on a multi-grain bread - sandwich was very tasty, came with a side of jicama salad. Open, bright room; good service.

I'm a vegan and was so excited that Peacefood Cafe moved into the UWS! Unfortunately I have had "hit and miss" experiences with it already. The sandwiches were good quality. We ordered the "Raw Entree" and half of the order wasn't in the package to which the staff offered no solution. It was way overpriced for the wilted morsel of food we received. We ordered a salad and it was wilted with tons of dressing heaped on it. We found the take out totally inedible and were extremely disappointed. What vegan place puts dressing on a salad to go? Why wasn't it on the side? The salad looked like it was pre-made the night before. I had a scone from here that was tasty. We also enjoyed the chick-pea fries. We've had four of the sandwiches from here and only two of them were excellent. I hope that Peacefood Cafe works on their quality control and starts to employ staff that are knowledgeable about their product and capable of including an entire order in a take-out bag.
