Being a vegan, I was thrilled to stumble upon this new little gem. The food is delicious and healthy vegan. I just had a cinnamin bun the other day. Amazing. The food is fresh and well-prepared. Try the chick pea fries and the curry soup. OMG. The best. The service needs some polishing but they are brand new so that will improve. Best part of all is that not one animal suffered for your meal. Isn't that enough to want to eat there!?

I really, really wanted to like this place. I've been 3 times and live in the hood. the service is...bizarre. There are plenty of people working there, but it's slow. And they cant seem to decide if they want to be an order at the counter place, or have wait service. It doesnt work. On to the food. sigh...it could be so much better. Went there the first time - great. the 2nd two time, shall we say, I lost my lunch. so. yeah. I'm done. too bad. the UWS does need a decent veg place

I do agree with many of these reviews; the service needs work. However, it's a new restaurant, and it's doing a great job with vegan food - I've taken many non-vegans there and they've been thrilled by the food. However, to the gentleman that commented below me - do you understand the concept of counter service? Before you review this place too harshly, did you take a minute to look around the place? They feature counter service, so if you'd been sitting at a table for a while without food, perhaps it's because you didn't order it yourself. This is supposed to be a place to get great, healthy, whole foods, not a place where you're supposed to be wined and dined. While I do agree that they have some things to work out as far as their service goes.. st's casual, and, well, get over yourself.

Sorry I can't review the food. After sitting down and being ignored for seven minutes I left.

they might as well call this place "Self-Serve Cafe". not sure how the sit down experience is, but the quick "to-go" one was just horrible. i just went in to pick up a couple of slices of cake to try. i literally was standing there by the counter for 10 minutes while the people who "work" there were walking around not having a clue what to do, and just didn't care about the fact that there were people waiting by the counter needing service. perhaps i should have just helped myself to what i needed? btw, i wasn't the only one waiting either. long story short, they really need to improve on their service. oh, and i purchased two slices of the lemon-vanilla cake. decent cake, but i'm not sure if it's worth the $4.75 per (thin) slice.

I came here for a quick take-out salad, and the guy behind the counter was out-of-this-world rude. He made the older gentlemen in front of me wait for about ten minutes without looking up at them, even when they said "Excuse me," then he acted like taking their order was the biggest inconvenience in the world to him, then it took him like 5 minutes to get them their cookies, and then he forgot to give them their change. When he took my order he acted again as if it was this huge transgression that I dared to come into his restaurant and place an order. Meanwhile, several other staffers are walking around witnessing his behavior, and not doing anything to help. If I ever go here again it will be for delivery so I don't have to deal with the blatantly rude service.

What's not to love? For a vegan, this place is paradise. Delicious salads, amazing soups, and the paninis are incredible. Not to mention - the DESSERTS! Heaven on earth for vegans. They also have juices, and smoothies. The decor is pretty, clean, open, and airy. In my opinion they are very affordable, and I think their food is a lot less oily and less pricey than other nearby vegan places. The ordering/seating thing there is a little confusing for patrons..Do you order at the counter or sit and have someone take your order?..I think they need to have a host at the door helping customers as they come in. Other than that, it is a GREAT place.
