The best vegan food in NYC.

A very elegant atmosphere. Reasonbly priced. And it's so hard to make vegan food delicious but Peace Food knocks it out of the park every single time. The wait staff are authentically friendly and aiming to please. I will go back again and again and again.... My favorites are the Shanghai Dumplings and the unchicken chicken. Both delicious.

    A slice of Nirvana

Everyone that works there is free healthy kind individualistic. The ambience is homey and artistic and clean. The food was delicious made with TLC and very affordable. They don't sell liquor and it's somehow adds to the peaceful atmosphere. I only bring friends I know here because it is one of the safest coziest spots in New York City for me. The place is always packed, Yet once you sit down it's not hectic or annoying. There's no get em in get em out vibe. Even meat and potatoes types love this place. I highly recommends the dumplings, vanilla cake, macho nachos, peace bowl, breakfast with quinoa, Fried chickpea fries.... oh just eat everything

Good vegan and close to the museum

Went with a friend who is a strict vegan after a visit to the museum. The red bean chili was very good. The side of corn bread was very good. The dumplings were only good when hot; after they cooled down, the wrapper was too tough. Tiniest cup of macchiato I have ever seen. Good service with a smile.

    Can't get enough!

2 months ago, I eliminated all processed food and began eating a primarily vegan/gluten-free diet. Enter Peacefood - I liked it before, but have grown a new and almost obsessive appreciation to everything on the menu. Thank you for having a great variety of choices for me - at such reasonable prices. My favorites: chickpea fries, peacefood bowl with bok choy, kale and pumpkin and the vegetarian chili.

    Arrogance with a Smile

Ate there tonight (Valentine's Day) and ordered the raw food pizza. It was 17.95 but I imagined it would be very good at such a high price. However, it was not at all to my liking. It was a bed of buckwheat, soaked with sour marinara, with a mix of olives, onions and basil on top. Looked like less than $3 worth of ingredients. So be it, I figured, and I brought a slice to my lips. It was unappetizing. Okay, no big deal. It happens. I couldn't stomach the taste, so I didn't eat it. What shocked me was the owner's refusal to take the item off my bill or even to "split the difference." He explained that it was perfectly good, even if it wasn't to my taste. With a self-satisfied smile, and without even a hint of apology, the owner explained that he could not make any adjustment to the bill even though I had returned my order, having eaten no more than a bite or two. In reply, I suggested that this is no way to run a business. He smiled and proceeded to offer me a free cookie as a peace offering. How sweet of him, I thought. Or rather, I thought, I shall not be returning here again.
