I love this place - the atmosphere is casual and elegant, the food is great, love the desserts, and the price is ok on most items.... but $3.50 to add Daiya?? That's not cool, and it makes the pizza too expensive. Very annoying.

Went a few weeks ago and had the Fried Seitan Medallion and a Mocha Breakfast Smoothie. MrsLeedsveg had the Roasted Potato Pizza with vegan cheese and an orange juice. The food was delicious and so substantial that there was no room left to fit in any cheesecake, which I'd really been looking forward to. I mentioned this to the waiter with a regretful smile and on leaving and unexpectedly, we were presented with a parcel containing a large and gratis slice of cheesecake. When we ate it at the hotel later, it too was delicious. There was nothing for us to fault at this restaurant and it was the best eating experience of our 11 day holiday in NYC.

I have dined at Peacefood Cafe's new downtown location a few times since opening up in my neighborhood and have loved all their healthy vegan/vegetarian offerings. My favorites are chickpea fries, raw sushi roll (almost as good as Pure Food and Wine's!), any of their soups, their steamed kale (tastes much better than it sounds) and their vegan carrot cake. The reason I feel compelled to write a review, however, is because their customer service is exceptional! Tonight was the first night I tried their delivery service. My food arrived within 20 minutes and felt like it was the same quality as if I dined at the cafe. The restaurant forgot to pack my dessert (raw chocolate mousse cake) and when I called, they immediately sent a delivery man out with the missing dessert and had it delivered in less than 5 minutes. When I opened up the bag, there was a handwritten note that said "We are so sorry, please enjoy this cookie!" and comped me a free cookie. It was so sweet!
