    Memorable Meal

On Tuesday 19 June 2007 whilst on a first visit to New York we enjoyed an excellent meal in the upper part of the restaurant. The service was attentive, but not overly so, the atmosphere was vibrant and fun. Prices are not cheap but the quality is top notch. Really pleased that a local pointed out the place for us otherwise we would have missed out. The crowd that night appeared to be business men and women enjoying good food whilst holding informal business discussions however this all added to the atmosphere.

    Perfect, but cheaper uptown

The pizza is the best in the city--a perfect meal when paired with a salad. I've been to the usual suspects--Lombardis, Johns, etc, and I always think Patys's comes out on top! For those of you who groan about price, look at the other locations and take a trip to the Upper East Side. Pizza is cheaper and it's a nice, old atmosphere. Cash only though. You're missing something if you haven't had a Patsy's pizza in this city!

    Best pizza in the city

The pepperoni pizza is my favorite in Manhattan. Perfect blend of spices and old world flavor!!

    Good Food

I happen to really like Patsy's and go there many times a month. I highly recommend the whole wheat pasta.

    Bread Basket

The bread baskets at Patsy's are outstanding. I don't know who goes to a resturant and reviews the temperature. Do they do that in ZAGAT'S? If the food is that good - why does it matter? Maybe you (previous reviewer in dec 2005) should dress for the occasion. Or maybe I am not up on the trends. Patsy's get Five stars in my book.

    Good Service

My order got messed up a little bit and they were overly friendly and compensated me for it immediately. The food is very fresh and tasty. Pricey, but worth it.

    Ok w/reservations...

This review is specifically of the 23rd street restaurant: Pluses: Penne alla vodka is excellent - won't find better in the city. Same for the chicken parmigiana (only served for lunch). Same for pasta with meatballs. Wine is value priced, good selection. Minuses: 1) Place is always too warm, regardless of season, by about 5-10 degrees. I've walked in, and right out in the summer because of the heat, and even in winter, the 5 degree too warm temp. blunts the dining experience. 2) The bread basket is stingy and tasteless. Basically, you're given what look to be two large, failed zeppoli rolls, w/o sugar, for a party of two. 3) The hostesses are attractive but unprofessional. My recommendation: Fine for delivery. For eat-in: Good for lunch, good when really cold outside, good when eating by yourself. Otherwise, pass.
