Patsy's Italian Restaurant
Posted by Carrie I on 02/20/2014
This is a restaurant that I head to every time I go to NYC. It is the real deal and is frequented by many big names though that is not the draw. The food is great, well-prepared, and timed to perfection. The service is also the best.

Love this restaurant, always have always will. What is great about it, besides the traditional italian fare that is prepared to perfection(Yum especially on the zucchini fritti and clams oreganata) is that is it consistently excellent. And such a warm and welcome atmosphere. It is still operated by the original family--so you know it's up to par! This place is NY's real Italian deal!

Well prepared authentic Italian with a home style touch. Patsy's never fails to disappoint and delivers unadulterated, fresh mainstay dishes to perfection. Professional service from a seasoned staff in the heart of Manhattan!

I heard good things so we went. It was GREAT. Started with the melt in my mouth meatballs and it only continued to prove itself as an outstanding flavor enjoyment from then on. Great food, service and like eating at a friends home they were so friendly and warm. We'll be back

The food from this restaurant is SO GOOD! I don't normally leave comments, but Patsy's is worth it. Excellent food!

I can't believe the super-positive reviews aren't written by the owner's family or friends. The place is way over priced, the food is incredibly underwhelming, and if we hadn't been caught in a rainstorm probably would have left after a (over priced) drink. The room was filled with long-timers, and half the tables were guys who looked like they were late for a Sopranos casting call. That isn't an issue since those guys usually know hot to eat, but the food itself was so under spiced, and uninteresting, that I could only wonder if it was the 'scene' everyone came for -- possibly -- it certainly wasn't the food. I had fettucine Alfredo (my first was at Alfredo in Rome years ago) and have a vague idea how its supposed to be prepared. This was a lot of tasteless pasta swimming in a soupy tasteless sauce. Sorry, but for $23 you expect an effort, at least. The other Patsy's (e 60th, and chelsea) have great dishes...fairly priced, and the booker in our group thought we were going to one of their spots. Im sorry we didnt. I'll say this: its very New York - if you don't mind giving up an evening of Bonanza to go out to dinner.
