But it pained me more to eat it, so I have to give this review. Pastami Queen claims to have the best pastrami. Nothing could be further from he truth. It's really not good. At least not the day I bought some. They also offer a seven layer cake. It tastes like bubblegum with a mealy cake texture. In other words, totally, and uterly disgusting. I almost feel like retching just thinking about it. I bought the kugel (they call it something else there) it was not good. Actually it tasted old. I ate a couple bites then couldn't bring myself to eat any more. All in all, I wasted about $60 at this place, and all I had to "enjoy" was a mediocre matzoh ball soup and a rather decent (and large) piece of apple strudel. Overall, very disappointing. I give Pastrami Queen two thumbs down, and a middle finger for having the nerve to hawk this ¢rap to unsuspecting but eager heebs like me. I'd be better off eating treyf.

I understand that the prices are a little excessive, but for a few things on the menu it doesn't matter. Have the Chicken in the Pot! I order it for myself and it lasts three meals. It is delicious, not too salty and utterly amazing. The sandwiches are yummy, the potato pancakes are fresh... I could go on and on. One of my favorite go-to take-out restaurants in my neighborhood. Definitely give it a try, but be prepared for the prices.

First off, I couldn't decide which was more of a crime, the $15 Pastrami Sandwich or the $5 Knish..lol. Actually, the only reason I didn't call the authorities is 'cause when push comes to shove, this is clearly the best deli around..at least the Pastrami is..and that's the bottom line. And especially here on the UES, where mediocrity is served everywhere at $10/plate no less, I can justify this extravagance. So, every once in awhile, when the mood strikes, I pick up the phone and order....and that's not a bad thing.

Got take out from here last night. I figured with the prices they charge the food would be good - not so. Small portions, poor quality. Also, service takes forever.

Are they serious with their sandwich? My friend and I expected to split a sandwich for lunch because usually $14 sandwiches are big enough for two but not here! The sandwich was a joke for what we paid. Tasty but way too small.

Sandwich is way too small for what they charge. The pastrami is good - not great - but it is impossible to justify the price for what you get.

While the food here is actually decent, it is not a comfortable place to sit. The person taking orders is by far the rudest person I have ever spoke to. Even after taking my credit card number was obnoxious and then refused delivery. Finally fed up I canceled my order.
