    Pleasant surprise

Have worked in the dining wasteland of the Penn Station area for years and have been waiting for a decent lunch place to take clients. Even though my client and I had the whole place to ourselves at 1pm on a weekday, the food was very solid and at very reasonable prices. Waitress ignored us for a while and I had to wave someone down to get my check, but I will recommend Pars for lunch, and will be back.

    Not getting my money

Me and my three friends walked into this restaurant on Saturday night to use the restroom. I offered to buy a drink, but the bartender was nice enough to just let us use the restroom. As I was getting out, this old man (who I think was the manager) stepped out and started screaming at me, and blocking the door until I bought something! I just bought a shot to get out of there, but it was an awful experience, and I will never advise anybody to go there. I mean, he was just berating us, and screaming at us....Mind you, we tipped the bartender before we went to the restroom, so we weren't looking for a completely free ride. We were not drunk either. They just lost themselves one, or maybe ten, customers.

    Best place for appetizers/drinks!

I came across this place when my coworkers and I were searching for a happy hour place in the Chelsea/Garment District area (Not a lot of options for chill places there, I know.) They have great appetizers to share (Try the Kashk-e-Bademjan, an eggplant dish) and good drinks specials. And a great cocktail list. Best feature, if you want to sit at a table outside and just order drinks, they let you do that with no fuss! Unlike so many other restaurants in the area that demand you to order a main course or stand at the bar....

    satisfied

We had appetizers, entrees, and dessert here, and our waiter was very helpful with recommendations for each. The stuffed grape leaves and eggplant/walnut appetizer were very good. The saffron pistachio ice cream was interesting and enjoyable. Pleasant atmosphere, and nice presentation of food. Relaxed, interesting ambiance.

I tried the rest, Pars is the the Best

I have tried the other Persian restaurants in the city and Pars is by far the most authentic. I came here two years ago and thought it was good. Now that I have returned to New York, I find that Pars has a new chef and the food is even better. The only downside is the service but coming from a small town, that can be said for every restaurant in New York.

Best Persian Food in the City

Pars got a new chef in the past year and the results show. It is by far the best Persian in New York City, and the prices are terrific for the value. The only downside is the service. Try their homemade saffron ice cream, it is fantastic.

    Merci Pars-i

Loved this place. The decor seems to be very traditional, which really makes one feel like they're guests in a truly ethnic place to get the full experience. The bread is DELICIOUS!!! We had the mashed eggplant, the mint yogurt with cucumber, the cucumber/tomato/onion salad, and the mixed veggie salad for apetizers, and they were DELISH!!! For main course we got the sultan beef platter with the skewered beef (two kinds) and the chicken platter, which both came with safron rice, and the crisp rice part, which is sooo scrumptious. It took me BACK to my childhood, such a very pleasant surprise. loved the ambiance, with the traditional music, and especially the canary singing, and watching peeps outside smoking the hooka lovely experience... i will DEFINITELY go back. it's so good for me as a customer that this place is not yet discovered... LOVED it!!!
