Only good for drinks and maybe apps-skip the dinner
I live in the neighborhood so have been to Parrilla a number of times. The last time I went was by far the poorest dining experience I have had at any restaurant. We started by ordering a ceviche (because we had gone and ordered it a month prior and found it delicious). This time the lemon flavor was extremely overwheming, I am not one to exaggerate but this tasted as if tons of concentrated lemon juice had been poured all over. We told the waiter who claimed they always made it like that, then we told her we ordered it before and it tasted nothing like that so she got another which was better, but still nothing like last time. So then we ordered the chicken pasta dish and the spinach and ricotta stuffed ravioli. When they entrees arrived the "pasta" plate had tons of sauce with chicken pieces and literally only 2-3 strands of pasta! They couldn't understand how this happened but took it and brought another plate. In addition, my "spinach and ricotta stuffed ravioli" had absolutely no spinach inside and even worse, appeared to be the cheap frozen raviolis you see in supermarkets. When I pointed out the lack of spinach they claimed it finished. At which point I told them I would've ordered something else if I knew before hand so allowed me to order something else. I was surprised the manager never came by to apologize on behalf of the restaurant and when the check came there was absolutely no concession. After getting all of our dishes wrong I would think the least they could do is not charge the glass of wine or give a free dessert, especially considering we pointed out that we've been before and dishes did not taste the same. The decor and price of this place are trying to make it upscale but half the food and the service as a whole are not. I would only go to sit at the bar for a couple happy hour drinks and maybe an appetizer. It's def not worth it for dinner- for that price hop on the train for a couple stops and you'll have a medley of restaurants of better value.
