    Good food, tiny portions

They were incredibly apologetic after bringing our entrees literally moments after bringing the appetizers. But they remade the steaks, so no harm, no foul. The sides were embarrassingly small, however. I mean, almost insultingly small especially for the price. If funds are not an issue, I'd advise you to intentionally overorder! Otherwise, hit one of the "real" steakhouses in the city where you can dependably leave sated.

A nice addition to the neighborhood

We live 2 blocks from Parlor, so we are thrilled to have a steakhouse in the neighborhood. While Parlor isn't on par with our favorites (Wolfgang's and Maloney & Porcelli) we had a perfectly good meal and a lovely evening. Our waiter was very attentive and professional, the strip steak was good, the seafood (shrimp cocktail and steamed lobster) was fresh and perfectly cooked. We will definitely go back, and bring our kids along, too.

    great

I have eaten at Parlor Steakhouse on a few occasions since it has opened and every time I am impressed. The food is great and now there are specials, the chef certainly has some good and creative dishes. I find the atmosphere just what this neighborhood needs, I have lived here for 10 years and it’s nice to have a place to come with friends, sit at the bar and have a bite or a family dinner at a table. I am glad we have this great addition to the neighborhood. Definitely worth a visit!

    Excellent Addition to UES

Went there last night and was blown away by the rib eye. Perfectly seasoned and seared on the outside. Tender juicy, flavor full and cooked to a proper medium-rare. Apps were decent with the heirloom tomatos exceeding my expectations. Will definitely return.

    Bland Food, Sky High Prices

I am a big fan of steak... and living on the UES I was happy to see a steakhouse come into the neighborhood. This one disappoints, however in the key areas of the actual taste of the food, and the prices. They are charging more than Peter Luger's and Smith/Wollensky for far more substandard cuts of meat. The strip I had was very fatty/grizzly, and the side orders are very very tiny. The creamed spinach had very little taste. The whipped potatoes were good. The chocolate ganache dessert was not a ganache..it was more of a soggy piece of fudge. We will not be going back here. The decor and service were excellent. It's a shame they can't do better on the food and the extreme prices.

Amazing and Welcome to the Neighborhood

My friends and I have visited Parlor Steakhouse on three different occasions and have enjoyed the food and ambiance very much. First of all, the oysters are extremely fresh and tasty as are the two sauces on the side. The heirloom tomato salad, himachi tuna, and beef tartare are so far our favorite appetizers and truly reflect the freshness of the market. The chopped salad is quite interesting and has fresh feta cheese which gives this salad a great taste (pehaps the previous reviewer does not like feta). We have enjoyed the sirloin, filet mignon, and the bone-in rib eye is amazing - my favorite. We applaud the chef for his selection of meats and preparation as well. The whole branzino was my friend's favorite- tender white fish with delicious crisp skin, filleted upon request. As for the side dishes, the macaroni & cheese, creamed spinach, and grilled asparagus can't be missed. Next time, we look forward to the twice-baked potatoe and whipped potatoes, which was suggested by the staff. The service gets better each time and the staff is very personable and attentive. The desserts reflect creativity and are quite satisfying. My friends love the rice pudding and chocolate ganache, and my favorite is the cheese cake. We found the prices to be quite reasonable especially compared to the other steak houses in NYC. Also, let me not forget to mention the wine list: impressive, very nice selection and affordable. The vibe of the restaurant is amazing and we look forward to returning to this beautifully designed space - how refreshing to find a place like this in our neighborhood. We all are of the opinion that the husband-wife team has selected great people (chef, general manager, and all) to make Parlor Steakhouse a fabulous place to frequent. Today is Friday, a reservation is a must already. Enjoy!

    Not a Good Steakhouse

The service was impeccable and I had a nice night overall, but I will never eat here again. This place is like a big budget movie where the plot goes nowhere. its a very nice looking place, but the taste and price of the meat will leave you hungry and poor. I ordered a filet. It was one of the worst cuts of meat I ever had. My family has owned a local butcher shop for over 30 years, so Ive got some experience with steak. It was more expensive than any other steakhouse Ive ever been too (outside of Luger's).
