    Pass the SALT?

No complaints about the service or atmosphere, but the food was sub-par. I asked for a medium-rare steak and it came back well-done. The chef also salts everything on the menu too much. Unless your 70 years old or have a high salt intake this place will leave a bad taste in your mouth.

    Great evening

My boyfriend and I decided to try this place for dinner on a Thursday night and we were pleasantly surprised by this new steakhouse. It had a great vibe, pretty young and trendy. Service was excellent. The owner even came over to our table to introduce himself and open our bottle of wine, which was really nice. The overall feel was friendly and anything they could do to make us have a pleasant evening was done. Food was all excellent. Also had a great wine list with many options under $50, which is unusual for a steakhouse. We will definitely return.

    Pleasantly surprised!

This neighborhood really needed a nice steakhouse like this. We live in the neighborhood and were excited (but highly skeptical) to try this place out. We've been 4 different times now and i have to admit, the first time i was underwhelmed but we gave them the benefit of the doubt, being new, and fortunately each and every time they show great improvement! Last time was superb! We split the porterhouse for two and the meat was so delicious niether of us even used the accompanying dipping sauces, which says something for a good steak! The sides were much better and all in all I have high hopes for this place. THey're still newbies so they definitely have things to work on but the important thing is that you can see them working on them.

    Pleasantly Surprised, although slightly

Went to eat here last week with my boyfriend. I was pleasantly surprised by the food and the service. Our waiter was greatreally attentive and friendly. We ordered quite a bit of food and were pleased with most of it. I'd definitely go again, Prices were high, but not too bad.

    Take a cab elsewhere

Start with the +'s...steak was good, atmosphere is nice, and couldn't say a bad thing about the service....but mgmt must know that the expense acct's arent heading to 90th and 3rd, way too expensive for what it is. If you're looking to drop 200 on steak dinner date, do yourself a favor and take a cab to wolfgangs or ben and jacks.

Fine dining in a casual atmosphere

Everyone is welcome to their opinion, but I had a perfect meal this evening at Parlor Steakhouse. My mouth waters just thinking about it! The steaks were great, but due to the menu and refined complexity of the other dishes, I prefer not to think of this place as the usual steakhouse, but rather a welcome addition to UES fine dining within a casual environment. With our reservation for 4 + a baby, we were immediately seated in the quaint downstairs room (perfect for a party). Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and highly accommodating, especially with our no complex carb dietary requirements. To start, we ordered a sampling of oysters, the chopped salad and a few heirloom tomato salads. The oysters and chopped salad were fresh and delicious, but the heirloom tomato salad with its creamy gorgonzola, basil oil and perfectly seasoned tomatoes was without a doubt, perfection on a plate. The bone-in 16oz. Strip Loin (huge) and petite filets (perfectly proportioned) were lightly seasoned so one could enjoy the simplicity of a flawlessly cooked steak, while side sauces were available if layered flavors were preferred. They made sides to our discretion including steaming spinach, sautéed spinach with/without garlic and asparagus. New to the menu, the seared scallops were large and exceptionally cooked over savory spring vegetable succotash (no risotto was requested) with a balsamic reduction. I loved it! There was a nice selection of desserts, especially with the addition of the peach filled beignets, again changed by request to an accompaniment of crème fraiche ice cream with matching sauce, for the new mother who couldn’t have honey. For my dessert, I asked the waiter if there was fruit in the kitchen to which he returned with five options. I requested fresh strawberries, blueberries and whipped cream (not on the menu) and once again, they accommodated my request without hesitation. As we were leaving we met one of the owners and thanked him for a marvelous meal. I appreciated that he asked my name sustaining the neighborhood feel of this wonderful restaurant. Without hesitation, we will regularly be back.
