Overpriced pub grub.
I live across the street and want to like the place but every meal I've had is disappointment. Even a simple hamburger is second rate. Why this place is popular is a total mystery to me and to my neighbors. I can get better food at any local diner or pub.

Surprisingly good
Why surprising? Because it looks a little like a chain restaurant. But not only are the steaks good at this steakhouse, but so are the salads, chicken, pork chops and side dishes. And you can't beat the $35 three-course prix fixe. I had a Caesar and hanger steak and ordered cookies for my dessert: got a plate of six different cookies, all warm from the oven. I'll surely go back.

Don't get the ribeye
We had a great ribeye there about 1.5 years ago, but struck out the last two times. Not sure if they are skimping on meat quality to keep their margins or whatever, but our ribeye was disappointing the last two times. Not worth $40 nevermind $74. Not sure what the other cuts are like, but stay away from the extra fatty, chewy ribeye.

After eating at another steakhouse in Brooklyn i can say that Parlor is much better! The service was above our expations and we want to thank you for such nice lunch, and great steak.

Oily rib eye, anyone?
We have the "Delmonico" rib eye on the bone for two. Their menu says they cook their steaks with butter - they weren't kidding. The cut was fatty (not marbled, but chunks of fat untrimmed), and there was a puddle of oil it was sitting on. I had 2 slices and my husband the other 3 slices. There was soo much grease on the steak, it was like a tank in my stomach. I like BLT Steak way better. Too bad, but at least the oysters were fab (raw bar). BTW, $74 for the Delmonico was too much for this oil slicker.

Food okay, but service has issues
This is the only review I've written but feel compelled to tell everyone to stay away from this place. The service is not good That said, the food was fine but the place needs to be rethought from the top down. A poorly run establishment.

Wonderful and refreshing!
My husband and I had brunch reservations for a special birthday and we couldn't have been happier with our choice. The atmosphere and food was great was great but the thing that really made this exceptional was the way the manager handled an error that the hostess made when she inadvertently gave away our table that he had reserved for us. I guess it was a combination of my husband and I not being "demanding" upper east siders combined with the extra effort that the manager went to to make up for the error. He was extremely gracious and because of his attention to good service we had a wonderful time. The entire staff had a wonderful attitude and were very efficient. All in all we had a wonderful experience at Parlor and will absolutely return.
