    Lovely Jubbly

Great fish and chips! I always wash it down with a nice cup of tea (they serve proper tea in there) or maybe a cold (imperial) pint. There seem to be a few embittered reviews for reasons I can't fathom. This place definitely gets my "thumbs aloft". PS They have nice salads if you really must ...

    Great British Grub

Really well done British "working class" staples. I have always had excellent service in here (they don't kiss your ass but that's not the way the Brits roll). Haddock and chips. Superb!

    Best to eat in

For the best experience you don't have fish and Chips to go EAT IN always. There is a reason they don't deliver too far it's about how your food would arrive. Anyone with a bit common sense knows that hot food releases steam and combine that with batter(breading) and you would end up with a pile of soggy mush.

    Best of British Service

Can't rate the quality of the food, because despite taking our delivery order and directions to an address - just below the Flatbush end of 6th Avenue - they later called to say they wouldn't deliver because it was too far for the guy to cycle! Seems they're also importing some classic rubbish English customer service... A Thai place around the corner got our business instead and they delivered! No wonder curry is Britain's no. 1 food!

    Not a huge fan

I also don't get what the big deal about this place is. In England, fish and chips are cheap and fresh. The fish at ChipShop is definitely fresh, but they charge an awful lot for it, and the breading is always mushy and not crispy. I don't really think it's worth the money they charge at all. And they charge you extra if you want more tartar sauce!

    Great Fish and Chips

I loved the food. In the past month, I've gone twice and no regrets. The fish is delicate and crunchy and the chips are delish. Can't go wrong. Forgo the tartar sauce and use the vinegar. This makes a vast difference.

    nice fish

very nice fish, although we've had better batter. cole slaw was excellent. i tried the veggie shepherd's pie, but wished it had peas and carrots in it (and a bit more gravy). mac+cheese was great. chips are ok, but nothing to go out of your way for. if you are trying the deep fried desserts, go for the banana first, twinkie second, but snickers doesn't work quite as well. service was extremely friendly, but a tad bit slower than promised. all in all a great experience, and worth a try.
