the big diner
lots of coffee shop/diners in the neighborhood. By far the best is Park Plaza. Eating there or having it delivered rarely dissapoints. Plentiful portions, friendly service, speedy delivery, food cooked as ordered 99% of the time. I have been enjoying what we call the 'big diner' for more years than I care to admit, and will continue to for many years to come.

What happened to this place?
I have ordered from Park Plaza for the past 5 years. Normally the food arrives in about half an hour, freshly made, hot, and delicious. The man who took the orders (and the delivery men) was always friendly and polite. The last 3 times I have ordered I had to call the diner after an hour to inquire about my order. The first two times I ordered a burger. Both times, I guess in their haste to get the order to me, the burger arrived RAW! Not rare, RAW!! Fries were old, or quickly re-fried. I stupidly called again tonight. Again, after an hour no food. When I called I kept being put on hold while he checked the order, checked this, checked that, asked the kitchen, etc. Then he argued that it was only half an hour. WRONG! I informed him that I checked the time of the initial call on my cell. It had been an hour and 7 minutes. More arguments - that was impossible, another person was there, another delivery was first, etc. I will never order from Park Plaza again. What changed over there?

Solid Diner, Rude Owners
I've been living in DUMBO since '84, and the Park Plaza Restaurant has been around for probably just as long. As far as diners go, they're a solid choice, but their ownership sours the experience every time. PPR is family owned and operated, and out of the three guys that run the place, only one is a cool person. The other two are awful to their staff, and rude on the phone. I've been yelled at almost every time I've ordered on the phone, and the couple of times my order was incorrect at the restaurant, they've tried to convince me that I got the right order and should be happy. again, solid diner, just look for the younger brother.

The best diner in the heights, not even close. Real friendly staff starting from the owners all the wat down to the delivery guys. Check this place out.

Solid Place
Not the Best Diner in the World, but the best one in around that neighborhood. Far better than any of the Diners on Montague Street. I like the Turkey Burger.

Great Food, Slightly Expensive
Haven't actually eaten at the place - always get delivery. Very polite on phone, that's the only taste of service I have. But the food is always excellent. I love the omelettes, the belgian waffles, and especially the vegetable ravioli - the sauce is great. The appetizers and french onion soup are great too. Haven't tried much else. Only complaint is that the prices are a bit too high for diner food.

Poor service
It was such poor service. I waited for my order. The waiter too forever for my check. I could have walked out of the restaurant without paying.
