Park Italian Gourmet

Park Italian is a place for a quick meal. The hot food is aveage Italian food. It could be better of course, but that takes time, and lunch in NYC is not alway about lots of time for great food to be served. It's good enough, and better at Italian food than most every other place in the area that serves quick meals. The cold food is above your standard deli meat [select]ions. They make a decent hero. This is a go to place when you want something decent, cheap, fast.

I read the reviews on this place and thought I should try it out one day for lunch. The whole experience was awful from the time I walked in to the time I left. The place is small and cramped. You can barely get a drink out of the coolers b/c the lines are in the way and there is almost no passage. When I eventually got to the "hot" line, I ordered the small portion of baked ziti. It was only a $1 cheaper but about 4 times smaller than the large portion. Now I'm not a picky eater but I thought the whole point of Baked Ziti is that it is baked. (ie: the cheese is melted, the food itself is hot, etc) At best it was cooked ziti tossed in a bland tomatoe sauce with chunks of mozzerella thrown in (almost as an after thought). The mozzerella wasn't melted and the "sauce" lacked flavor. A little garlic, salt, pepper, etc goes a long way. Also it came out of a warming tray and it was luke warm at best. The seating like any midtown restuarant is scarce around lunch time so be prepared to share a table. Overall I was extremely disappointed in the whole experience based on the reviews I read. The one positive thing I can think about the restuarant is that it is quick. (not that its the kind of place you would want to hang around in) So don't waste your money. You've been warned.

This NYC landmark is a gem ... nestled in between 5th & 6th Avenues on 46th Street, it's where you can find delicious Italian specialities that only your 'Nonna' could make! The prices are great, the selections are vast, but the decor leaves something to be desired - it hasn't changed in over 20 years! (I'm afraid if it's 'updated' the prices will go up!) Food can be taken out or you can eat in the back. Not a large room but it works. Say hello to Joe, Vinnie, and Sal because they are the best. Viva Italia!

Veal parm was extremely tough & fatty. Although the portion was good & the sauce was good, the veal totally ruined my experience.

A delicious Chicken Parm sandwich for about $5.50, which was bursting at the seams. At first I thought "5.50!?" But it was delicious and plentiful! Well worth it. There is seating in the back, but there's not that much to it. They also don't accept any kind of card, just cash. If you order and try to pay you'll find yourself walking down the block to the nearest ATM, but they'll hold your food for you!

Excellent veal parm, and italian hero is famous, plus best deal in the city.
