Park Cafe

Had lunch there Saturday April 6; service was excellent,food came promptly and was very good. Prices were very reasonable for NYC, not like horrible place accross 55th Street -Ben Ash Restaurtant. We lingered for a while since we were served so promptly, and there were no problems in doing so. I would highly recommend this place.

This is in response to review of 3/22/2013. I have been going to the Park Cafe Restaurant for twenty-seven years, which in itself should count for something. I have never in all this time ever observed a serving person texting or using a cell phone, which would be intolerable for me as well. On one and only one occasion have I been asked to move from a large table to a smaller one because the place was getting crowded and the table was needed. Usually, I am simply permitted to finish my meal undisturbed. I have very often taken more than an hour, sometimes even up to an hour and a half, and have never been questioned about it, always providing that the place is not busy. I have always found the serving staff as well as the manager and owners to be completely courteous over the long period of time I have been going to that restuarant. Such has been my own experience. I caanot account for the experiences of others.

I had visited Park Cafe today and it was the poorset restaurant experience of my life. The waitress was texting while standing next to me all throughout service, and the manager had come over to tell me that I need to leave since he has customers waiting for a table. I noted there were other available tables at the time. He had said I had been at the restaurant for an hour and that is too long. Nowhere did it say there was a time limit to staying in the restaurant. He was very rude and told me I need to finish my order and leave.

Stayed in New York for a week at the Wellington in June and found the Park an inviting venue. Menu is varied and food of good quality for the price. We were happy to have several meals there so can't be bad. Special mention for the Staff all of whom had a very pleasant approach. Pleased to recommend.

Nice cozy place, good food good service, a little pricey

I know to some a diner is a diner but I really like this particular one. The booths are a little small but the staff was very accomodating, the food came out quickly and was tasty and nice and hot. Another thing I appreciated was that the server actually took our bill and ran the card instead of us having to go to a cash register. Not the norm for a diner. This place is near my dentist's office so I'l be back.

So expensive and the food is nothing special.
