    ummmmm?

I love this place but it's tiny bit overpriced. grilled chicken, salmon and steaks are always tasty. chicken frances is also excellent- the other review is odd- chicken francese is mostly butter, lemon and a little vermouth. capers only come on chicken picante. they are responsive to a/c and music requests. don't order the 'avacado salad' unless you love avacado, it's a sliced avacado :) sangria, pitcher is very affordable and tasty for what you get. otherwise, it's a nice place, good staff.

    It's about time!

This place is in a great location to "cater" to NYPH employees. The food is good and the service is great. I had the pleasure of dining in with my fiance and was very pleased. The atmosphere was great. A good first date spot. A little dark in our corner but inviting none the less. I especially appreciate the discount we recieve as Hosp. employees. They have a great lunch special for $5 bucks and thats just perfect for choices of steak, shrimps, chicken or fish. I love the fish. I believe the prices are somehwhat "upscale" but it balances out with great specials. The nieghborhood is coming up and its about time!

    Spell easily broken

It's a shame the food and service don't match the decor. From the minute my friend and I arrived, we were called "joven" by the waitress who is prob. our same age. My friend ordered an avocado salad as an appetizer and 15 min. later was brought some lettuce and tomato on a plate. The waitress comes by and we ask about the avocado and she says, "Oh we ran out, but the chef thought you'd like this. Try it." My black bean soup was watery and the beans tasted like raw meat. (To their defense, I wasn't charged for it). Later, my friend ordered chicken a la francese. It is supposed to be breast of chicken, cooked in a white wine sauce and served with capers. She received chewy chicken that seemed to have been soaked in butter and oil (the wine?). As a side, she ordered maduros which tasted old and refried in wayyy too much grease. My chicken a la milanesa was breaded chicken served on cold lettuce. No garnish, no sauce. My side order of yucca arrived 20 min. after my entree. When asked, the waitress went off in search of an answer, came back, blamed the "boys in the back" and said that they had run out of yucca, but it was on the way. Then, we noticed that the white couple next to us had a basket of bread and we asked them if that had been brought to them from the start to which they replied yes. When we asked the waitress, she said, "Oh we ran out of bread." Who runs out of bread? It was a slow Tuesday, early evening dinner and these people ran out of things like it was a Friday night. The wait staff was incompetent and what's more, the food was subpar.

    Who would have known

This restaurant has really good potential- based on friendly service and a cook/chef who obviously knows what s/he is doing. I have not gotten a meal i haven't liked here- all of the steaks are seasoned perfectly; chicken francese, and grilled chicken are my favorites. The sangria is tasty and an excellent value for a small group. It is on the pricier end for this neighborhood- but in the end it's worth it.
