I've eaten at Paptzul twice now and have had great experiences both times. The duck enchiladas were fantastic - a slight hint of almond in the mole sauce was delicate and amazing. The seafood ceviche appetizer had just the right amount of citrus. The lamb was exquisite. The stuffed pepper was also fabulous. The owners are so sweet. The margartitas, though pricey, were excellent A great place for authentic, classy Mexican.

My husband and I ate at Papatzul last Friday and loved it. If you're looking for truly delicous, satisfying Mexican food rather than the usual coagulation of cheese and lukewarm beans, this place is for you. My husband, a vegetarian, ate the poblano chili stuffed with squash, almonds and currants and hasn't stopped talking about it since. We often judge a restaurant by their vegetarian specials since many take the easy route out with a plate of grilled (flavorless) vegetables. The chili and its stuffing were superb. Salads (often missing from the run of the mill Mexican restaurants) were fresh and coated with a light dressing. Also impressive about this restaurant is the list of tequila available. No expert in this area, I asked our waiter for advise. He was very patient (took me a while to decide) and helped me choose something terrific. I've eaten Thierry Amezcua's food before (La Gourmandise) and loved it then so I'm pleased to know that he's branched out with this new venture. Last, but not least, the restaurant is surrounded by fabulous shopping and cobble stoned streets. Lots of fun to shop before ducking in for dinner.
