Had the lamb and spinach ravioli in a lamb reduction and truffle sauce. Absolutely delicious, soaked up everything on the plate. Cute, talkative bartender as well. If you on the upper end of the UES its for sure worth a try.

I've been a fan of Paola's at her various locations. This one is attractive but almost unbearably noisy. Not worth the discomfort for what should be a pleasant neighborhood spot with good-enough food.

The new location is great. Beautiful decor. Food excellent. Service great. Paola & her son Stefano are great hosts. Love this place.

My husband and I frequently go to the UES for dinner. This restaurant was quite dissappointing. The first time we went we had to wait almost an hour when we had a reservation. We had ordered martinis at the bar and after 45 minutes the host offered us another drink on the house. After the second martini, my appetite disappeared. We did end up with a nice round table in the corner of the nicer cozier room and the waiter was very nice and the food decent. We decided to give it another try. On our second visit, we were offered a small table in a corner, too close to the next table, and then were offered to take a table for 4 near the entrance in the noisier room. It was quite drafty when the door was opened. We received mediocore service, the waiter was blah. The pasta offerings were disappointing. The specials were boring. I ended up with Lamb Shank which was tasty, nothing great. My husband had the duck special, which he said was good. We thought the dinner was overall just fair to say the least.

Our party of six, including my 81-year-old aunt and two cousins from out of town, were kept waiting and left standing for 45 minutes with no reasonable explanation and no offer of food or drink after we arrived on time for confirmed reservation. No one from the restaurant came over to speak to us during our wait--we had to keep asking about our table. If it was just my husband and me, we would certainly have left. When we were finally seated and served, my branzino was very oily--not the way it's supposed to be prepared--hardly worth the wait! Needless to say, we will not be back, and I would advise others to avoid this restaurant.

Our party of five went to Paola's for my birthday dinner last night and fully enojoyed the experience. Staff was attentive but not pushy, table and room were cozy and the food was fantastic. The porchetta special was incredible, as were the lamb chops, and my linguini with clams was some of the best I've eaten. The proscuitto appetizer was simple and delicious. I'd highly reccommend Paola's for a nice, quiet meal on the UES.

We have been back several times and love this place more each time. The fresh pasta is amazing and the staff very curteous.
