Sub-par food and service
Went there on a Tuesday around 5. There were 2 other tables there yet it still took them 10 minutes for the waiter to greet us. The orders were wrong and the food came out luke warm. My friend got fish, and for 25 dollars, the piece of fish was small enough to satisfy a small child.

I read reviews
We read reviews before going. Sweetooth, do you know what Pangea is? the meaning of the word? It was wonderful its a fantastic mix which is the idea of pangea is pretty much a give away unless you have no idea what the word means. I would suggeat this this place to anyone i know. The waitstaff not stuck up very friendly and honest, food of a wide range and taste that is wonderful.

Great east village secret
I always passed by this place on my way to work and finally stopped in with my girlfriend to check it out. Food was amazing and worth every penny. We started with a warm goat cheese salad, I had the chicken penne and she had jambalaya. Server didn't know the year on the house wine or how the jambalaya was spiced, but was friendly and thoughtful. We never felt either pestered or ignored. Great atmosphere, candlelit and cozy, makes you feel right at home without being unrefined. I stopped in for a drink on my way home last night and had a great time with the bartender. Nice spot, I'll be coming back again.

al fresco
A group of us had a tapas style dinner at Pangea's outdoor cafe on a recent breezy mild night. Some of us were drinking mojitos which were made with fresh sugarcane syrup and they were delicious! We shared the curry chicken samosas, tuscan shrimp, hummus, and arugula salad. All were delicious and helped balance the buzz we got from the mojitos. Its so easy to forget the time passing at Pangea's cafe and we think its because it feels more like a garden and less like a sidewalk due to the beautiful trees and plants. We now have a great outdoorplace to chill after the midweek work slump.

favorite neighborhood spot
Pangea is my favorite neighborhood hangout. The menu does have something for everyone, including some basics like Bistro Chicken and a Blackened Talapia. Always simply prepared and good. Pangea after all means "all earth" so I understand why the menu tries to cover all the bases, but it does so without being ecclectic.

identity crisis
This shopworn place has clearly seen better days. The menu is a confusing hodge podge of dishes from all over the world, our group tried a variety, the Indian Samosas, the Thai fish, Italian pasta, etc. and we could not reccomend any of them. There was a group of old regulars drinking heavily at the bar in sharp contrast to the empty dining tables. Pangea is confusing, overpriced and depressing.
